Quiet Time...
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”
Romans 12:1 ESV
*****
Dad got up around 4:30 so I settled in for a little while
before I heard him stirring around...
made him a Breakfast Burrito...
And then sat back down with my fur kids...
Lanny came in a little later...
Made the bed, fed the pups and kitty and headed outside...
Penny laid her early morning egg...
Dropped in on Dandy and Takoda...
YUM!!
Made some Brownies for today's dessert...
added the crushed Potato Chips just for Molly!
She loves 'em that way!
Made Daddy a Bacon and Egg Omelet with Toast...
Waiting at the Gate...
Penny laid her egg a little later...
Made some Beef, Mixed Veggie and Spinach Soup for our Sunday Lunch...
Everyone LOVED it...
Cornbread, Boiled Eggs, Cucumbers and Tomatoes from the Garden...
Then, of course, after it's all over...
Siesta Time!
Went out after our nap to give the birds some cool, fresh water...
Popcorn's comb is always droopy but this heat has it REALLY droopy...
Bad hair day for this girl!
Can't even see her eye!
Lanny left for church around 4:30...
I fed Dad some Chicken Noodle Soup
and Mom wanted some Peanut Butter and Crackers :-)
I made Ghee!
Ghee is just butter without the water and milk solids
so it has a VERY LONG shelf life...
we LOVE the taste of Ghee and it has a high smoke point so you can get the delicious taste of butter when frying with it... easy to make!!
The jars were hot as well as the ghee so they are all sealing even as I type...
as the ghee cools it will solidify into a lovely yellow and go into the pantry!
YUM!
I picked up the puppy piles, put the chicken feed away,
and now I will get my jammies on and either watch some Star Trek
or more canning/dehydrating videos from Rose Red Homestead.
If you want to know how to do anything in the kitchen, food preservation and preparedness, and have a little fun you need to watch her...
Goodnight Family and Friends...
Sweet Dreams...
and God bless America!!!!
