A Day in the Life / Sunday, January 31

Quiet Time....

“Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:3‬

****
Still a lot going on over here but we are trying to keep to our routine as much as possible...

Dad didn't wake up until about 7 this morning so I had already fed the pups and kitty and let the chickens and ducks out...Dad was having trouble breathing and struggling with his oxygen tubing so I decided to stay here (Lanny went on the church without me) to keep an eye on him.

When I looked at the yard cams I found that we had a visitor overnight...big cat, NOT someones little kitty :-) ... we will have to keep an eye on this!

I made an Aldi's frozen pizza for our Sunday Dinner today... we are all just too tired from the events of this past week... Lanny and I sat down immediately after the meal to rest...

Well, first I had to feed the critters because it was nearly 2...their dinner time!

THEN we sat down....

The whole pack joined us :-)

Lanny finished putting the Blackstone Griddle together...

Some assembly required...he hasn't worked on it solid but it's taken two days. But this griddle is awesome! I cannot wait to get it seasoned and ready to go!

It's big, like at Waffle House!! :-)
Sometimes I feel like I am cooking at a restaurant so there you go!!

So, Lanny is on his way down the hill for the evening service and I will have Potty Patrol tonight...then I'll put the chicks and ducks to bed...

****
I'm back in from evening chores and in my jammies,... I'll go see what Mom and Dad want to eat for "supper" and then I'll settle back for old Star Trek episodes or maybe a National Geographic animal documentary...

Time to decompress...

Goodnight Y'all.... God bless America!

A Day in the Life / Saturday, January 30

Quiet Time....

“Ho! Every one who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And delight yourself in abundance.”

Isaiah 55:1-2

*****

Just had to show you our pack...kitty on the futon, the three pups in the bed...waiting for us to hop in :-)

Robbie joined us for Bible Study this morning...

Cold as whiz but ya gotta do what ya gotta do...Ducks and chicks out and about and we are going to head down to Hoskins as usual...

Robbie joined us for breakfast...Molly will be in the hospital for at least a few days and he is going to just chill over here with us...

After breakfast we picked up the grill from Walmart...I cannot wait to cook on it!!

Made soup for lunch and we managed to grab a wink or two...

Lanny worked on putting the grill together all afternoon...

I made Breaded Fish and Chicken, Normandy Veggies, Buttered Noodles, Pound Cake and Applesauce...

Now Robbie is snoring in the recliner...he is WORN OUT!!! Lanny is in the shower, I am in my jammies and we may just go to bed super early tonight...maybe a short animated something...

Goodnight Y'all...God Bless the USA!!!

A Day in the Life / Friday, January 29

Quiet Time....

“But now, this is what the Lord says…Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.”

Isaiah 43:1

*****

Morning
Chores....took care of Dad and fed the pups and kitty, went out in the COLD and took care of chicks and ducks...as usual, they are not phased by temperature!

We ran down the hill to get some labels for my label maker and a thermos for Momma so I can make her some cocoa for bedtime. We go to bed early but she and Dad stay up later so the thermos keeps it warm till they need it...Dad has been getting a thermos every single night but he really doesn't want to share :-)

Lanny had to burn some trash...

We had left over soft tacos for lunch but didn't really get to take a snooze today...lots still going on but things are looking up...continue to pray for our family but we are hopeful that things will calm down and get back to "normal" soon...

I ordered a really nice propane grill with a griddle top (not the grates) and I am so excited. We will tap in to our giant propane tank out back that is used now for out fireplace and have a cook stove any time we need it...in case of power outages and also hot summer days :-)

I took out Thanksgiving leftover Turkey and Dressing from the freezer, made Yams, Green Beans, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy and we had a mini Thanksgiving Dinner... Yummy!

Robbie came over and cut his long beard off and we had a lot of fun teasing and enjoying the event...he looks great...he looks so YOUNG!!!

Now we are going to watch another Star Wars (number 3)...Robbie is going to watch a movie with us and spend the night...Molly is in the hospital but on the mend - nuff said - and God is good and in control.

Goodnight Y'all...God bless us, one and all!

Quiet Time....

“Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭24:10‬

*****
I apologize in advance that there are no photos for today and nothing much I can say about it... it has been a very eventful and stressful day and I cannot share the situation, except to say that if you know us and love us please lift up our family in prayer....God knows our needs.

Love to all, and Goodnight...
God Bless Us, One and All!

A Day in the Life / Wednesday, January 27

Quiet Time....

“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:7‬

Back to normal...Lanny's Study Buddy...

I finished my morning chores...took care of Daddy, fed the pups and kitty and made some chocolate chip brownies for dessert tonight...

It was a fairly warm morning and not raining...chicks and ducks were thrilled!

We headed down the hill at 9:30 to pick up Mom and Dad's van from the shop...new front brakes. Then Lanny headed to his brother's to get the trailer so they could pick up our 4 Wheel MULE that has been in the shop...

I stopped at Walmart for some groceries and headed back to the mountain...

Daddy wanted a mug of tomato soup for lunch and Mom and I weren't really hungry so I sat down for a few minutes with my fur kids...

No time for a nap but I did rest and do some reading...I am enjoying reading about herbal medicines, gardening, homesteading...

Lanny got back just in time to head back down the hill to pick up Sadie at the bus stop...

I made Mexican for dinner...a favorite!

Sadie was able to spend some time outside (the weather is pretty nice)...she visited the horses, went for a ride in the MULE with her Papaw... and she loves Mexican too!

Lanny had to go to "work" at church and tonight he took Robbie with him. :-)

I am sitting here in my jammies watching another episode of Star Trek and thinking about gardens and herbs and solar generators :-)

Goodnight Y'all...God bless us, one and all...

A Day in the Life / Tuesday, January 26

Quiet Time....

"Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life."

Psalm 143:8

*****

It was downright warm this morning...and after last nights horrendous rain, it was WET! But the chicks and ducks were not at all concerned, as usual...

Beautiful sky after the storm...

Piddled around most of the morning...Lanny had to go to work at the church at 10 so we didn't go down the hill for anything...

I fed Mom and Dad a ham sandwich and chips for lunch and didn't make it to the couch...lots of things going on and I just didn't find the time.

I made Pancakes, Boiled Duck Eggs, Bacon and Sausage for supper...

Lanny took care of the puppy land mines and I put the chicks and ducks to bed...now we are sitting here watching the second Star Wars episode.

Goodnight Y'all...God bless America... and I'd ask prayer for an unspoken request in our family if you have a moment...

A Day in the Life / Monday, January 25

Quiet Time....

“Seek the LORD while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the LORD, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:6-7

*****
This morning I was the one with a little study partner...Murphy decided he wanted to be in my lap!

Took care of Dad, the pups and cat and headed out to let the chickens and ducks out...it was raining...

We caught Rob out rinsing his coffee pot as we were leaving...had to take a quick pic.

We headed down the hill to drop off Mom and Dad's van for some brake work and ran by Krogers for a couple of items...

I made a jello, peach and marshmallow dessert for tonights Spaghetti...

We ate tomato soup for lunch and Lanny and I did get a short snooze before the loudest clap of thunder I've ever heard interrupted! Mitzi was terrified and shook worse than I think I've ever seen her...for probably 45 minutes!

I didn't get much of anything done today since it's rained off and on...I decided to look at my gardening and herb and survival books and take a few notes...I always have the most beautiful and bountiful garden mid winter on paper :-)

...and all three wanted to help me work on my gardens...

We had Spaghetti, a big Salad, Garlic Rolls and our Jello Dessert...Yumm!!

So, the chicks and ducks are in bed, fresh water in their buckets, Lanny did the potty patrol....I am in my jammies, he is in the shower...we finished Mission Impossible last night so we will start something new...he is the movie man so I just wait and see...

Goodnight Y'all....God bless us one and all!!

Friday on Walden's Mountain... April 19

Quiet Time... I love the book of Isaiah... it is often "over my head" but the parts that aren't are SO beautiful!!! ***** ”O L...
