Thursday on Walden's Mountain... December 29

Quiet Time...

"Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me?
Hope thou in God; For I shall yet praise Him,
who is the health of my countenance, and my God."

Psalm 42:11 KJV

*****
Mom buzzed me around 3:15...
I laid back down but it wasn't really long enough to get more sleep :-)
Dad was up...
I made him some Breakfast Taquitos...

...and headed for the couch...
between my two little bookends :-)

Max occasionally sleeps on Mom's pillow in the kitchen chair...

These greens will need another day under weights and then black out...

These are nearly ready to start harvesting...

I am picking lettuce leaves every day for our salads...

Here is the picture of "Mitzi"
that shows up on the iHeart Classical Playlist all thru the day...

Made the bed, fed the kids...
Flock and Fluffle Time...
not as cold this morning...

Look at Rhoda!
She is the only one really molting right now and looks awful!!
Oh, and by the way, Nebula is just fine!!!
Still rowdy and always looking for food!

Hard to tell in a picture but her skin is exposed...
they don't seem to mind!

Made Bacon, Fried Eggs and Toast...
The men ate the works...

and Mom had Toast and Bacon...
She LOVES Bacon!!!

Decanted Sparkley
and berries for the birds...

The blankets are folded and neated up several times a day
but these kids just won't leave 'em be!

I separated the two does today...
it is about time.
Thumper is SO good...
he is using his litter box almost exclusively
and his living corner is clean and dry... he is such a good boy!!

Even the girls did pretty good.
They missed the litter box but were nearly all in one corner.
Their living area was pretty clean too.
I moved the litter box over to where they were going and we shall see if that works.
Now that they are separated I need to get Violet a box
and a heated water bottle of her own...

Lanny broke up some of the ice on the duck pond...
it is about solid.
The chickens loved playing in it!

And they were taking advantage of the composting deep litter in their coop...
several of the girls were DEEP in the litter...
And Sugar wanted in but Sassy said NO!

I warmed up the left over Fried Potatoes and Pintos
and gave them some slices of bread... they had a feast for lunch...

Mom ate some too!

For supper we had Mexican Ramen, Salad and some Butter and Garlic Tortillas.
Easy and YUM!

Chores are done...
It's a heat wave out there... 61 degrees!

Lanny says tonight is National Treasure!!
One of our very favorites!

Goodnight Y'all...
God bless and Sweet Dreams!

"We are at our very best, and we are happiest, when we are fully engaged in work we enjoy on the journey toward the goal we've established for ourselves.
It gives meaning to our time off and comfort to our sleep.
It makes everything else in life so wonderful, so worthwhile."
