Friday on Walden's Mountain... June 30

Quiet Time...

"but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."

Philippians 2:7-8 KJV

*****

Maggie was very comfy last night

during our movie :-)

Wake up Sleepy Heads!

Pack Time...

I love how the corner sprouts peek out for light...
this tray was in black out...

First day germination...
you can see some tiny sprouts starting to pop out...

Sparkley Day...

Barnyard Time...

The turtles are really getting used to the routine now...
they either see me, hear me, or smell the food...

Two duck eggs in the coop...

and two in the duck house...

Making Banana Bread...
batter for four loaves...

My 'One Pound" loaves
are nearly always more like 1.5 pounds :-)

Biscuits and Bacon Gravy for the men...

Banana Bread is done!

Marinating some steaks for tonights dinner...

It started raining early and has rained for hours...
not much going on outside!

I made us some Deli Turkey and Provolone Sandwiches
and Chips for Lunch...

The Goat House door is open
so they can come and go as they please during the day...

they always go in if it rains
and they go in at different times to rest...
it rained for several hours today
so they were stuck in there...

Lanny went in to visit with them...

and they also had LOTS of Chicken Company!

The sun finally came back out...
Mitzi is fascinated with the Bunnies...

Baby wanted to play but Mitzi was spellbound!

We got one inch really fast!

Willie is trying to figure out how he can get into trouble :-)

He gave up and decided to rest...

So I fried those Steaks on our griddle,
made some Green Beans and Taters,
Corn, Microgreen Salad and Garlic Toast...
Chocolate Pudding for Dessert...

Day is done...
Ready for Jammies and another John Wayne Movie...
we still have several to go...
Lanny says
"North to Alaska"
is tonight...
a favorite!!

Here is today's

The Goats add new friends to their collection :-)

Maggie and Murphy...
but mostly Maggie...
Murphy is still a tad shy...

Goodnight Family and Friends...

God Bless

Thursday on Walden's Mountain... June 29

Quiet Time...
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace,
whose mind is stayed on Thee:
because he trusteth in Thee."

Isaiah 26:3 KJV

Rise and Shine...

supposed to be a HOT sunny day today!

Dad got up right after I did...
got him all situated and then
sat down with my pack...

These two remain under Black Out...

One more day under weights...

Out to the Barnyard...

Left over Popcorn...

The fish are not hungry...
notice also how cloudy the water is...
they are in the mood for love :-)
They are spawning...

Turtle bath time...

I made some new turtle food:
sardines, corn, spinach, rice and a little bread...

And they LOVE it!!!

I gave the chickens an entire uncut tray of greens today...
they love it...
the goats were a bit put out...
it isn't exactly what they were looking for... :-)

So, I took them out some apples...

Willie says "better" :-)

He likes licking bowls...

Took the bunnies out some lettuce...

The goats will nibble on lettuce but it isn't their favorite snack...

Ground Beef, Garlic and Spinach out of the freeze dryer...

And into jars for short term storage...
the mylar bags are for long time storage,
the jars will last about as long as canned foods...

Scrambled Duck Eggs with Cheese and Bacon,
and Toast with Orange Marmalade...

Making Herb Bread today...

Ready for first rise...

Maggie was interacting with the goats for the first time...
she has only barked at them thru the fence and is mostly interested in the bunnies when we let her out...

...but today she played with the goats...

Fiona's little horn...

First rise...
fabulous...

My one pound loaves are usually closer to 1.5 lb :-)

The ducks aren't sleeping in the duck house,

but are laying some eggs in there :-)

Herb Bread is done!!!
Smells SO good!

Warmed up some left over pizza for lunch...

Soldier Fly Grubs...
the goats aren't impressed with those either :-)
I gave them some apples later in the day...
and THAT they loved!!  :-)
I was forgiven...

For Supper
I made Chicken Fried Steak,
Mashed Potatoes and Gravy,
Mixed Veggies
and
Fried Apples...
YUM!!!

Well, let's call it a day!

We didn't finish "The Longest Day" last night

so we will watch the end of it tonight...

Here's today's Video:
