Quiet Time...
"For to be carnally minded is death;
but to be spiritually minded is life and peace."
Romans 8:6 KJV
*****
Well, most of the new girls found their way onto a roost....
I had to carry two in that were planning to roost outside of the coop...
This is the arrangement (at 9:13 last night)
when all was said and done...
the four ducks stay on the floor...
*****
Good Morning Saturday...
Bible Study Time with
my Bible Study Buddies...
Max joined us...
he used to do this every single morning...
now it's about half the time...
Going well...
I will harvest the middle try today...
First Day Germination...
They stay weighted for the first four days...
I just mist them every day...
Corn is finished freeze drying...
Ready to vacuum seal and store away...
I can eat this stuff right out of the jars...
SO delicious...
But of course I hydrate and cook it...
tastes like fresh off the cob!
The dogs are on the bandwagon...
I give them their kibbles and sprinkle a bit of
freeze dried mixed veggies on top...
they love it...
Out to the Barnyard...
Morning is coming a little later every day
and it is SO cool and nice out there...
Come on FALL!!!
The new girls
were bashful and sat on the roost for quite a while
before coming out to join the flock...
Two Barred Rock
and Two Sex Link Black
(look a lot like my Copper Maran's)...
Preening time...
One by one
they came out...
This is one of the new girls
eyeing the kids...
perhaps she has never seen a goat :-)
They aren't mingling
but they are out...
of course they stick together for the most part...
at least for the first few days...
Made the men some French Toast Sticks
and Sausage...
Also decanted Sparkley...
And these two cannot wait
when I bring out the bowl of Sparkley Berries...
Harvested a tray...
Gave the stems and roots to the chickies...
This is Rob and Molly's stash...
Sparkley and a big bag of Greens...
They like adding the Microgreens to their salads...
I am weeding a neglected corner of the yard...
And throwing the weeds over the fence to the critters...
They all love it...
I found some grubs in a pile of grass clippings
that we have been putting in the back corner of the yard...
that was a REAL treat for the feathered kids!!!
Two of the new girls...
Baby likes to climb up on anything...
I guess all goats like to do that...
I made grilled cheese for lunch
and then we sat down for a quick snooze...
The pups were vying for position...
They figured it out...
Both under the same blanket...
but they don't realize it...
Still eating weeds :-)
So, since it is my birthday
Lanny and I are going out to Red Lobster...
just the two of us!!
I will feed Daddy some supper at 4
(I am going to make him some corn dogs
and he is excited about that :-) )
Paula will keep an eye on him while we are gone...
I will try to remember to take some pictures
but often get lost in the moment...
Anyway, I am 70 today...
I don't even know what that means...
I used to think 70 was kinda old
but getting here
it is just a number....
I suppose we are only as old as we feel
(as long as we don't look in a mirror HaHa!!!)
Goodnight Family and Friends...
God Bless
and
Sweet Dreams!
