Saturday on Walden's Mountain... April 20

Quiet Time...

"For each tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a briar bush. The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.“

‭‭Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭44‬-‭45‬ ‭

Good Saturday Morning...

Maggie is green,
Murphy is yellow :-)
waiting for Daddy...

Quiet Time
Bible Study!

Then Greens Time...

Just Hanging Out!

Sunny Radio
Good Morning...

Out to the Barnyard
before it starts raining!

Had some left over
Popcorn!

Lady Luck is mixing right in with the group...

Duck egg...
anywhere she drops it...

...and everywhere...
another one in the middle of the coop floor...

I throw out a bit of sunflower seed
every morning and evening for them...

The Kids like popcorn too!

Fishies are getting friendlier...

Plus, like all the other critters,
they know who hands out the food!

Well, it started raining...
chickens and ducks don't mind much
but these two do NOT like rain!
I had made sure they had yummy hay
and grain...

Sparkly Day...

I got several of these silk and cotton yarn hanks
at KARM for nearly nothing...
the catch is, you have to wind them into a ball
to use them...

So, I draped in around my knees
and started winding...
slow work...

... I may break down and get me a
Swift and Yarn Baller...
they aren't too expensive...
I can get a bundle
(both machines)
for around $60...

I think I will save up!!

When the rain stopped
Lanny went out to fix the gutter...
it had been leaking a bit and sagging...

Of course...
the goats were VERY interested...

Made us some
Black Forest Ham Sandwiches
for lunch...
on my Herb Bread, of course...

Then a little snooze...

Checking levels
and heading down to the big pond...
gonna look for more pine
and other goodies for
the Kids!

Max has a new resting place...
he loves a new spot for a few days
and then moves on :-)

Luke, on the other hand,
loves his spot forever!

For Supper
we had our version of Shrimp Scampi...
Butter, Garlic, Shrimp
on wide Egg Noodles :-)
plus some Broccoli!!!

A FAVORITE!!!

Then we ran out in the truck to check on the Big Pond,
grab the minnow trap and take it to the Little Pond
so that we can have some minnows to fish with
over the next few days...
I am thinking the three of us
can get our poles and go sit in the shade
by the Big Pond
and watch Bobbers!!!

We could see a lot of bass and bluegill...
should be some catfish as well...

Lanny had to "fish" the minnow trap
out of the Big Pond...

Then we headed for the Little Pond...

He barely set the trap in the water
and it was surrounded by minnows!!!
He put s few bits of tortilla chips...
they love it :-)

This is his "green " and "flag"
for hitting his golf balls...

That is where he hits them from...
126 yards between trees and over the creek...
but he rarely loses ANY!!!

We found some honeysuckle as we trekked around
and brought some back for the kids...

Eleven Eggs!!!
Nearly every day we get a basket full!!!
Does anyone need eggs?
The would be FREE!!!

Well,
time to call it a day...

All the evening chores are done...
pup piles picked up...
kitchen clean...
goats safely in their house...

We will watch the last
Narnia tonight...
"Dawn Treader"

Goodnight Family and Friends!
God Bless
and
Sweet Dreams!
