A Day in the Life / Sunday, March 28

Quiet Time....

“took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet Him, and began to shout, “Hosanna! BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD, even the King of Israel.””

‭‭John‬ ‭12:1

*****
It stormed all night so we had two fur kids that were still in panic mode...

I finished up all the inside chores and went out in the rain to let the ducks out...I left the chickens in their coop/run until after church...the ducks sometimes run them out in the rain...

Made it to church without incident but there was flooding everywhere...

Rob played this morning...Molly couldn't come because she had to stay with her niece...It was a good service... lighter crowd, probably because of the storms...

Came home and made our usual Hamburgers...Robbie ate with us...

David, the farrier, came over to get the Bad Boy Drake...he will have his own harem and a big pond to swim in...he should be happy...

I cleaned up the Puppy Landmines and put the chicks and ducks to bed.
Went out to chat with Paula and Shelly and the horses.

I have my jammies on and I'm eating a bowl of cereal for "dinner" as I finish this post... I will probably watch a Star Trek Next Generation episode or two until Lanny gets home...we may watch a movie...perhaps start the old Star Trek movie series...

Goodnight Y'all...
God bless us, every one!

A Day in the Life / Saturday, March 27

Quiet Time....

“The next day he *saw Jesus coming to him and *said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”

‭‭John‬ ‭1:29

*****

Nice morning with our pack...

Mom and Dad both slept in so I just rambled around inside until dawn...

Well, I hope this isn't going to be the usual now...

Lanny vacuumed the car before we headed down to Hoskins...

We sure love the simple things that happen each day...

It started storming while we were out...I knew Mitzi would be unhappy...
but we had to run to the Toyota dealer in Clinton and order a new keyless key thingy...I do NOT want to be searching for a key on Sunday morning again :-)

We also ran in to Food City for the Hamburger Fixing's for our Sunday Burger Day...

Sure enough, Mitzi was in her shaking and panting fit...poor baby.
All we can do is just hold her...

I covered her up and held her close....Maggie and Murphy like to be close but never appear to be real scared by the thunder and rain...not like Mitzi. Mom's Skipper is the same way. He hides in our closet...

Had to grill the burgers for tomorrow...

The Drake is in time out again...he had my Bossy down...Paula's farrier David is going to take him tomorrow... he will have a new home with NO chickens :-)

I made Baked Flounder, Popcorn Shrimp, Yams, Green Beans, Macaroni and Cheese and Chocolate Pudding... YUM!!!

Mom really liked her pudding cup!

I put the chicks and ducks up earlier, before the downpour...I didn't want to go out to do it in the rain, and the feathered kids probably don't mind being under cover in this mess!!

So, I am clean and in my jammies, waiting for Lanny to get his stuff done.
We will watch the last Star Trek tonight..."Beyond"...

Mitzi and Skipper are still not happy with the weather but I'm sure Mitzi will join us when we sit down on the couch... we will certainly have popcorn, and perhaps ice cream. Just maybe not a Sundae...we have had a huge Sundae two nights in a row and we will be the size of a barn if we don't quit :-)

Goodnight Y'all...
God bless, and we love you!

A Day in the Life / Friday, March 26

Quiet Time....

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD and whose trust is the LORD.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17:7

*****
Max is back to his old lovey self...he loves his Daddy and it's obvious...

I usually finish my quiet time and get up from the couch about 6:15... if Dad is up I take him his morning meds and make his bed, etc., but if he isn't up I go right into our room to make our bed...half the time Max jumps up there before I get there, or one of the others... I hate disturbing them and let them snuggle in our covers for a bit before I run them out...this morning it was Mitzi...

I fed them all and started some bread...

...and then it was time to go out to the fowl chores...

Well, day two of only two eggs...

I love my kitchen window to the chicken and duck world...

...had a goldfinch visit this morning...several came thru the day...

The chickens wait for me to bring them goodies...

...also, they are lately hiding from one of my drakes...he is a bully and he keeps chasing Bossy mainly, but all the chickens and even Willy...

He was put into Time Out today...

It didn't help...I may have to rehome him... the other Drake is not so aggressive...

The boys are still hard at work...

Lanny had to sharpen his chain saw...that thing is getting lots of use around here!

I ended up getting two brown chicken eggs today...

I made Chicken Fingers (from Aldi's...they were really good), Fries (also from Aldi's) and Normandy Veggies (from Costco)...delish!!

Lanny did the Potty Patrol, I put the chicks and ducks to bed and cleaned up their little ponds...

Lanny planted the Elderberry that Wendy and Toby brought us and is now in the shower...

Last night we watched Star Trek (the newest series, 2009) so tonight we will watch Star Trek Into Darkness...

We will probably do popcorn, and I thawed some strawberries to put over ice cream...we snack just a little at night :-)

Goodnight Y'all...
God bless America!

A Day in the Life / Thursday, March 25

Quiet Time....

“Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

‭‭James‬ ‭4:7‬

*****

We had our usual morning with the Lord, each other, and our pack...
it was a really nice morning...

I took care of all the inside chores: breakfast for the fur kids, a little sorting in the kitchen, and finally it's daybreak...

One of my duck girls dropped the ball this morning :-)
only two eggs today...

Peeping on my husband thru the kitchen window...

Working hard on his shop...

Went out to say good morning to the horses...

Cannot wait to start planting in this garden spot!

Random photos of my morning walk...
before the rain...

Lanny and I went down to Aldi's and Food City...just needed a few items...and we enjoy the time together...

Made some tomato soup for Mom and Dad for lunch... Lanny had to go to the church to make some CD's for Faye.

I sat down for a few minutes with Mitzi...she is terrified of storms and thunder...poor baby...

Maggie could care less...

Lanny came home and joined us for a short snooze...
it's raining after all...

Rob is working so hard on the house...
he says they should be back "home" this weekend...

...the view from their deck...

I made Pancakes, Eggs and Ham for supper...

After supper I went out to chat with Paula and Shelly and give the horses some carrots...

The lettuce came up several days ago as did the carrots...today I see beets!

So everything I planted is coming up... so exciting!

Lanny did Puppy Pile Patrol and I put the ducks to bed...

I had to put the chickens in the coop early today because my duck drake was on top of my hen Bossy and had her pinned down by the neck...I thought she was dead. She wasn't, but a drake can kill a hen if he tries to mate with her...I won't go into the details but it just isn't meant to be!! That drake will be waking up in a new home if he does it again...I have two drakes and three females...they really shouldn't be chasing my hens. I think they are just bullies!! Anyway, she is fine for now...I will keep a close eye on them.

Lanny is in the shower, I am in my jammies and ready for a movie...
I worked on the taxes last night since Lanny was at work...Glory! I did our taxes AND Mom and Dad's in no time flat! I am in shock. They were the easiest returns I've ever done...it's kind of scary...I hope they are right (haha)!

Goodnight Y'all!
God bless!
