Oh what a beautiful morning!

Whirlwind day...Paula's friend "blessed" us with a ton of apples...she has been coring apples for the last week. The last time she was blessed she cored AND peeled, but this time she just could not bring herself to do it. SO, we decided that the peel would be just fine. I filled my big Instant Pot full of cored apples and cranked it up for apple butter...a stack cake is in our future.
Four hours later I pureed the apples WITH the peels and returned them to the pot...
After another 4 hours I ended up with nearly a gallon of yummy apple butter!
The freezer is FULL of apples for winter cobblers and crisps!

In the meantime... I made a batch of lye soap.
I am dehydrating them just to speed up the process...they will be super hard and ready to use tomorrow!

Since we had so many apples I made an apple crisp for this evenings dessert...it was SO good with vanilla ice cream!
Rob and James were cutting thresholds for a job they are doing...
Lanny and Danny worked on the MULE and then posed with the Cub and the Cat (Cub Cadet and Arctic Cat) :-)
We ate left over kielbasa, chicken, pork loin, peppers and onions, corn and carrots and noodles and gravy. If it was good the first time the left overs are good too! Then we had the apple crisp for dessert!
I'm a duck herder now...

Now we are sitting here on the couch with all the fur babies watching "Dirty Dozen"... I'll probably pop some corn and perhaps even eat an ice cream cone...
