A Day in the Life / Wednesday, November 11

Quiet Time....

It's been raining all day so not much going on outside. I made a couple loaves of bread and cooked a giant pork loin to portion and freeze. 

I have been getting two duck eggs per day for the last week. I think the original sexing of the ducks was not entirely correct (I took the word of the previous owner). I am still observing but I am certain that  "Lily Tomlin" is a drake...and since he has been a bit aggressive with my rooster Willie I think I will name him Draco...if you've seen Harry Potter you will get the message :-/ I'll let you know their new names when I am sure...

Went down the hill to pick up Sadie at 1:30...seems it's been raining on Wednesdays when she comes up and she cannot go out and play with the chickens, ducks and horses...but she is very good at entertaining herself, AND she had some homework, so it all worked out.

We had a portion of the pork loin for supper (very tender and yummy when I do it in the Instant Pot), buttered noodles, gravy, green beans and carrots and homemade sourdough. 

Shannon and Pnut just came to get Sadie so it's pretty quiet...Lanny is at church for the Wednesday night service. If you wonder why I am not at church it is because I don't leave Mom and Dad here alone at night. Sunday mornings we feel it is alright because Paula is close by and they do have an alarm pager in case of emergency, but at night I just feel better to stay here. 

Lanny won't be home until 8:30 or so and that will be bedtime for us. No movie tonight. I'll probably watch a couple of Star Trek episodes and look at garden catalogs until he gets home :-)

I am seriously thinking about making some soap tomorrow...we shall see.
