A Day in the Life / Thursday, February 25

Quiet Time.....

“Iron sharpens iron, So one man sharpens another.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭27:17‬

*****
NOT the usual morning...at 10 o'clock last night Daddy insisted that he needed to go to the ER... we tried to talk him out of it - we felt it was probably just a panic attack, but at 10:47 the ambulance drove up...better safe than sorry...they took him to Methodist and we stayed here to wait for a call from the doctors. So at around 3 the call came...all tests were excellent, EKG, chest Xray, lab work, scans...discharged! "Come pick him up..."

So at 3:30 I headed for the hospital...

They sent him home with a prescription for Prednisone...
Acute Exacerbation of COPD with asthma...
We got him settled in...

So, at 4:30 we were sitting on the couch with our pups and our Bibles,
slightly sleepy :-)

I managed to stay awake, but not so my Sweetie...
he is a LOT older than me tho... ha!

I had to run Mitzi off our bed so I could make it up...she was very dejected...

Since Daddy went right to bed when we got home I didn't have to do anything for him..

Pretty nice weather this morning...
Chicks and Ducks came out raring to go!

We had to go down early to get Dad's prescription filled...
Passed our favorite sights...

We had to wait for 45 minutes for the prescription to be filled so by the time we left we noticed the Valvoline store by Krogers was open...our oil change was due so we pulled in... turned out to be the best oil change experience we have ever had...we will never go anywhere else!!!

Great employees, very professional, it was a real pleasure!

Eddie took the best care of us...

...along with Darius (the store manager)...

... and someone else under the car...we had so much fun watching them work!!

We needed a new battery and wiper blades...

Then we came home and got the truck so we could pick up some compost at Willow Ridge...
we are trying the no dig method...cardboard down first, lots of raw materials (in our case spent hay and soil) and the mushroom compost... thick!

And voila! Ready for planting...

We had left over Buddy's BBQ for supper...

Lanny did the Potty Patrol, I put the fowl kids to bed and we are settling down to watch Independence Day...

Daddy has slept most of the day and ate very little dinner so say a prayer for him...he is just getting tired...I guess at 91 he is entitled, but it is hard to watch...

Goodnight Y'all,
God bless us, one and all!!

  1. Praying for your dad! He does have the right to be tired but I know how difficult that is to watch. Have blessed you are to have him and your mom living right there with you ❤️
