A Day in the Life / Saturday, August 7

Quiet time...

“Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus,”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭15:5‬ ‭

*****

Dad was up early and came in for his coffee and donut :-)

We had a nice Quiet Time of Bible Study with a few of the fur kids...
At around 6 I made the beds (Dad was still up), took him his meds and water, made our bed and fed the fur kids...
then I went out to take care of the chicks and ducks...

They are spending more time together with fewer tense moments...
they will be fine.

Three duck eggs....

A bunny...and not disemboweled...sorry, but I usually only see dead bunnies that Max brings in :-)

The Leyland Cypress are doing pretty well...they were planted late spring and they've held up in this heat!

I can finally see the bottom of the pond...I am slowly but surely getting it cleared up.
I have removed a lot of the dirt in the pots and put in rocks so the koi cannot dig and mess up the water...
And, there is a very small shebunkin that must be a native born in this pond.
We didn't put him in there :-)

Cherry tompoes are still going strong!

Headed down the hill for our 8 AM date at Hoskins...
Lanny got a BLT today....I always get the BLT... YUM!

We ran by Food City to pick up the supplies for Sloppy Joes tomorrow...

I browned the ground beef so tomorrow I only have to warm up the mixture with the beef...

Put a cake in the oven for our Sunday dessert...

Made two pounds of dough for bread...
and put it in the proof oven for first rise...

Cake ready for tomorrow.
I have a regular oven and a big Breville Toaster Oven so I can do two bake jobs at once...

Hummer friends... they are fighting all over the yard. Too cute!!
Only occasionally do they stop to really eat!

Ready for second rise...

Fed Mom, Dad and Lanny fried bologna sandwiches for lunch at about the same time the bread was ready to go into the oven to bake...30 minutes later,

Then Lanny and I sat down for a rest...
with ALL the fur kids!
Maggie is under the blanket...

An egg from one of the new girls...
Also got a brown one from one of the Maran's and a tan from a new girl.
They are getting in the swing of things...

Sadie cheered at her first game today...
She loves it.
We couldn't go today but the future games will be close by so we will get to see a few.

For dinner I fried up one of those big chickens we got last week.
The breast was so big that I cut it into 8 tenders... pretty darn good!

I added some mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans and it was Delish!

We cleaned up the kitchen, Lanny cleaned up the back yard and then we went out to round up the chickens and ducks. Tonight it was a merry chase. NO ONE wanted to go to bed.We got our exercise but finally all were snug in their evening enclosures.

We are showered and in our Jammies ready to watch the last episode of The Chosen Season 2.
We cannot wait until Season 3!!

Goodnight Y'all...
God Bless and Sweet Dreams
