A Day in the Life / Friday, August 6

Quiet Time...

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43:2‬

*****
The mornings are a bit cooler this week...
nice!

Dad was awake when I got us this morning so he came in to get his coffee and donut as soon as I got it ready...

Skipper follows him in...

Max joined his Daddy for a few minutes...

These two didn't realize they were so close.
Murphy wouldn't mind at all but Maggie is a little stinker...

Fed the fur kids and made our bed...
Dad was already back in his when I got up from Bible Study time...
Headed outside around 6:40...

The chicks were waiting...

The new girls are doing well...still a little tension but no real aggression...
and they are getting more used to me.

Three duck eggs... I am sure this cooler weather is helping.
They just don't lay as well when it's HOT!!

Still on guard duty!

Lanny replaced the guts in our toilet this morning...
it was whistling and gurgling and doing all kinds of obnoxious things!
All better now!

Made Lanny an egg sandwich and Dad an omelette for breakfast...

Gave the chicks some berries from the fermented Sparkly when I decanted this mornings batch...Chicks need probiotics too :-)

Picked a teeshirt full of cherry tomatoes :-)_

Love 'em, like candy!

We had a lite lunch...crackers and cheese and peanut butter (except Dad, he HATES peanut butter :-) )
and some peach, pear, watermelon and cantaloupe slices...
We are going to Calhouns for dinner so we didn't want to fill up!

We took a short rest with the fur kids and then
Lanny and I pulled up some of the spent plants in the garden...
we got pretty hot and itchy...
had to cool off in the pool!
It was SO nice!

Bossy likes to take a "dust bath" in the duck house.
If Draco catches her he runs her off, but she is determined!

We got three chicken eggs IN the nest boxes today.
One is brown from one of our old Maran's  one is Bossy's and one is olive from one of the new girls.
It will take me a few days to catch them in the act and determine who is laying what...

We headed for Calhouns at 4 to beat the Friday night dinner rush...

Had a lovely table by the window...

Catfish for some and salads for the others...

When we got home and I took the MULE down the hill to grab the mail...

Lanny and I rounded up the chickens and the ducks...

We are going to watch another episode of the Chosen.

Goodnight Y'all
God bless America
Sweet Dreams...
