Thursday on the Farm... April 28

Quiet Time...

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:24-25

*****
Dad was just getting up...
Took care of his meds, coffee and Biscuit Rollups :-)

And sat down for Quiet Time...
Lanny joined us a little later...

Took care of the beds and fur kids at 6 and headed out at daybreak...

This the the backyard, the dog yard out our patio door... I am taking the picture from the chicken and duck lot fence... I would love to just let everything roam together but the dogs just cannot control themselves around chicken and duck droppings!
YUCK!!! :-)

Two duck eggs...

Still just one little naked Blue Bird Baby in the box,
but Momma and Daddy are close by... the others should be hatching soon...

AND, Goldie, Popcorn and Sugar did their thing!

Frisky fish!

Paula and Lanny are working on her electrical.
Lanny and Paula know a lot of stuff so we had the professionals do the work to a point and then these two will finish... it saves a LOT of money!!

Warmed up left over pizza for lunch for the men...

Then Lanny went back out to work on Paula's breaker box a bit more...
tomorrow they will finish up...

*****
Potted some of the plants we bought yesterday...

This is an Eastern Beardtongue, perennial... It's behind the koi pond on the deck...
It is related to the banana plant and is native... we like to have mostly native plants and this one is loved by the bees, butterflies and hummingbirds!
Cant wait to see it in bloom!

There is a Sword Fern in the background
as well as different sedum plants... not native...

And this is Virginia Sweetspire... it is native and related to the willow...
the branches and flowers will cascade... It will attract the bees, butterflies and hummingbirds as well!

This is an Obedient Plant... why it is called that I do not know. It was one little plant last year and now the pot is fully covered. I will probably have to divide it every year but that is OK... I will put some of it in the ground around the duck pond next year...
It has gorgeous pink/purple flowers and attracts the pollinators!
We are also making a pet cemetery (Mom and Dad's little Skipper is buried there already) and I may go ahead and put flowers in the ground around the little graves... there will be more... our fur babies don't live long enough :-(

This is just pretty... petunias, lavender and some sedum...
not necessarily native but I like a few annual flowering things...

For Supper we had Garlic Buttered Noodles and Shrimp, Green Beans,
Carrots, Salad and Pudding...
We LOVE Buttered Noodles!!!

Mom is still eating in her Suite :-)

Lanny and I ran down the hill in the MULE to get the mail...
that is a treat for me!!

I cleaned up the kitchen, Lanny picked up the puppy bombs,
the chicken feed is put away...

I am getting ready to put on Jammies and Lanny is in the shower...
We still have several John Wayne movies...
Last night was Iwo Jima and tonight will be McClintock!
I love the JW and Maureen O'Hara movies!

Continue to lift Mom up in your prayers...
it is slow going and her patience is wearing thin,
but she is much better even if she can't tell :-)

Goodnight Y'all...
God bless and Sweet Dreams!
