Friday on the Farm... June 24

Quiet Time...

“For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever,

and His faithfulness to all generations.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭100:5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

*****
Dad wasn't up...
and he didn't get up until 5:45...

I got his stuff ready, except for his Breakfast Burrito
and sat down with my pack...

It was really nice... didn't have a single interruption,
didn't have to get up for anything...

So! If he is up when I get up that is great
and if he sleeps til I am finished with my Quiet Time, great!
However, I won't hold my breath :-)

Mitzi even joined us for her neck and head massage by her Daddy :-)

After I took care of Daddy at 5:45,
Max was waiting for his carry cuddle to the living room...

I sat him in the chair but he jumped right up and headed for...

his Daddy's arms...

I made the bed and headed out to the fowl...
they were squawking!!

There was a yolk on the coop floor...
the hens were all eating so they had already eaten the shell...
I was afraid it might be Gabby's...

But no! Her egg was safe in the corner nest...
it must have been a soft one that Penny laid...

Coppertina...

Popcorn and Sugar...

Bucky...

Goldie and Baby Amber and Baby Opal...
I think Amber may have graduated to adult tho...
I think she laid the egg Wednesday...

Baby BlueBird...

Feeding Frenzy :-)

Heading for the Stables...
Carrot Time!

Luke following me to check on the grape vines...
puny but alive... this is the first year...

First year they Sleep...
Second year the Creep...
Third year they Keep!!
Old saying :-)

Grandma's Lily...
Zephyr Lily...

The young ones are spending a lot more time with Bucky...
This is Amber and this is why I think it was her egg...
she seems more mature than Opal and is more confident with Bucky...

Sealing the rest of my white rice...
These quart Mylar bags, along with the oxygen absorber sealed inside
will last years if I needed them to :-)
we just wanted a safe supply...
rice doesn't keep well long term but the best prices are in bulk!
Problem solved!!

Seven more quarts packaged today...

Lanny is working on the area below the pole barn...
he calls it the burn area, where he burns boxes, etc.

8 AM...
Breakfast Time!
Eggs, Sausage, Toast and Orange Juice...
with some fresh Cantaloup to boot!

Waiting at the gate!
Do you think they are spoiled!?

Decanted the Sparkley...

Took the berries out to the Birds...

They came a runnin'! :-)

A Pearl White in the right and Goldie sitting in the left...

Lanny wanted to show off his progress...

He has been clearing, weed eating and mowing...

Looks GREAT!!!

For lunch we had Grilled Cheese, Chips and Salsa...

Ran out to check for eggs before we sat down for our snooze...
Goldie, Willow AND... another egg from the young one...
as I said, I think it is Amber.
It will get bigger...
the first ones are often quite small...

Mom and Dad both got into bed after lunch so I can relax...
I keep one eye on the monitor :-)

After nap time Lanny went down on the hill outside the backyard fence
to clear a little...
it is pretty steep so he cannot go down too far...

Rest break...

Making an Apple Cobbler for tonights dessert...
Paula prepped and put these apples away in the freezer last summer...

Dad and Lanny took a load from behind the pole barn to the dump...
part of Lanny's clearing out this morning...

Dad loves to get out! He doesn't really care where they go,
and he doesn't get out of the car, but he loves the ride!!

Fed the Fur Kids around 2...

Maggie in her private dining area :-)

Apple Cobbler is done!

For Supper we had Mexican Pizza, Chips, Salsa, Salad...

And Apple Pie Cobbler al a mode!

The kitchen is cleaned up, the puppy piles disposed of :-)
the chicken feeders stored away for the night...

Last night we watched "Ghostbusters" .... fun!
Not sure about tonights show...
I'll let you know :-)

Goodnight Y'all...
God bless and Sweet Dreams...
