Quiet Time...
“On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’””
John 7:37-38 ESV

Dad was up...
Breakfast Burrito for his first breakfast :-)
No Max this morning, but Mitzi joined us :-)
Max was in the bed...
had to disturb him of course...
Sparkley Day,
Berries for the birds...
Brownies for todays Sunday Lunch...
I put crushed potato chips in the batter and on top.
You should try it... it is DELISH!!!
And Cole Slaw to go with the Sloppy Joes...
with my homemade slaw dressing...
AT&T gave us a free little Samsung tablet for being such loyal customers...
we have a bunch of lines... It is small so I decided to dedicate it to the kitchen to display my Paprika Recipe App... it does very little else but can handle the app!
Dressing for the Cole Slaw...
Out to the back lot...
Brownies are done and cooling...
The veggies are coming up nicely under the lights...
these are out in the barn greenhouse...
Sloppy Joe's with my home canned sauce and ground beef...
This is a really cool gadget to have in the kitchen.
It is called a Yuk Chuk
and fits on the inside of the cabinet door under the sink.
It is for kitchen scraps.
When it is full I take it out to the garden.
In the summer I put it in the BioPod for the soldier flies or the compost bin.
They make compostable plastic bags you can put in there if you would rather just toss it in the garbage can. Either way, it is SO handy...
Here is a link if you are interested in one.
I have used it for literally years...
I'd easily guess ten!
The chickens LOVE kitchen scraps and spread it all over the garden.
My little compost crew!!!
Family Dinner...
Sloppy Joes...
with Slaw and Chips...
Talking over the tractor that we are going to buy.
SO exciting. We absolutely need a tractor on a farm!!!
Such a pretty afternoon...
had to go sit with my feathered kids for a little while.
Some time this week I will go down to the Little Ponderosa Zoo
and nab me some more hens.
I am SO excited about that!!! I really need some more hens
and Mary Lou is needing to thin down her flock a little... perfect timing!!!
We will also be getting some Nigerian Dwarf goats from her in the spring.
Sugar and Goldie...
they are SO faithful lately...
Can you see the turtle head?
It's a warm day and she is peeking out...
they have been buried in the dirt and leaves for several days
and she will scoot back down as the evening cools off.
See her little black head in the mound?
All three of them are burrowed in the mound...
The fish are just suspended on the bottom of the pond...
a little movement during the day when the sun is out but mostly still when it is cold.
I do heat the pond. There is an automatic heater in there that only turns on if the water gets below 45 degrees. So it isn't warm but will not freeze.
The dogs are loving the sun...
I gave Opal some lettuce on the sly... the other chickens were out in the back and I snuck her a treat. She is so shy and lets the other girls push her around.
I am hoping that when I get the new hens
that she will not be on the bottom of the heap anymore :-)
Bucky doesn't pick on her...
I think he kinda likes her :-)
Lanny and Sadie headed back down to church.
I fed Daddy some chicken noodle soup, as usual on Sunday night.
I cleaned up the pup piles and put the feed away.
I will get into my jammies and watch some gardening and homesteading stuff
on You Tube and some Star Trek in the background and wait for Lanny to get home...
Goodnight Y'all...
God bless and Sweet Dreams!
“Father, thank you for holding me together today. I needed you, and you were there for me. Thank you for every bit of love, mercy, and grace that was shown to me though I did not deserve it. Thank you for your faithfulness even in my suffering. To you alone be the glory. Amen.”
