Quiet Time...
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”
Psalm 34:19 ESV
*****
I forgot to share this yesterday...
we had a brief Coyote Seranade at 4:30 AM
while we were in our Bible Study Time...
they only sang for about a minute and then total silence...
Beautiful and Eerie....
they were just right outside our fence line...
*****
Daddy wasn't up...
He went to bed right after dinner last night and didn't get up before we went to bed.
I put his popcorn, his cocoa, his pills, his Whoppers
and Ice water on his side tray and went to bed...
It was all gone this morning
so he probably got up for his night shift right after we went to bed...
I sure wish he could sleep at night and stay up during the day,
but he really does have his days and nights mixed up.
He got up around 5 and I made his some Breakfast Taquitos
to go with his other morning stuff :-)
Max was waiting for his "get out of the bed so I can make it" cuddle :-)
Waiting for their breakfast...
Aren't they adorable?!
Look at those eyes...
Fed them their breakfast at 6...
and then started some bread...
Wound the wall clock...
it is well over 100 years old and getting a bit cranky...
I have had to keep balancing it today because the pendulum keeps stopping...
I cannot even guess where I could take it for repair or how much it would cost!
Wednesday is pill day for Mom and Dad's meds
AND it is plant watering day...
I don't have a lot of indoor plants anymore...
there was a time when I had nearly 150 and they all had names...
yea, I am a bit weird.
Betsy, you probably remember that!! :-)
Ready for my little bit of hand kneading...
And then in the warm oven to proof...
First Rise...
Out to the back to visit with the chickies and ducks...
First rise was excellent...
Made Mom some Bacon and Toast and Jelly...
Then men had Scrambled Eggs, Bacon and Toast...
I live in a barn as you know, so there are not a lot of windows in my house.
But I do love the view from my kitchen window...
Shaped and rising for the second time...
Goldie in the box...
She did lay an egg today and so did Sugar...
Bread is done!!!
Yes, I ate the ends off the ugly baguette...
I didn't touch the loafs today :-)
Made Turkey Sandwiches with my fresh bread...
YUM!!
I didn't eat one because I had filled up on the two heels!!!
With BUTTER!!!
Faithful Ladies...
Goldie and Sugar...
Tomorrow I hope to have a few more...
we are going down to the zoo at 3 to get some more hens...
not sure how many yet...
I am SO excited!!!
One our way down the hill...
Three crates ready...
Saw the Emu's...
They make the sweetest sounds...
We ended up with ten hens and a rooster!
We let them out in the coop and they LOVE the coop...
I do deep litter so it is very thick and soft and warm from the composted material at the bottom...
The rooster....
he is BIG and he is handsome...
First blood...
Bucky and one of the Sussex hens...
I think she said "NO"!
You may not be able to see his neck feathers but they are OUT big!!!
They both had a small wound or two but that is pretty normal...
I warmed up left over Sloppy Joes and Slaw.
Chips and Pudding.
Quick and easy since we were late getting back...
I keep going out with a treat or two trying to win trust...
the rooster attacked me but I ain't afraid o' no rooster!!!
I went straight back to him and he backed off...
I guess he is just testing the water.
I won't let it progress because I definitely don't want one
that is aggressive to anyone that might come into the yard...
There have been several hen fights but that is normal too...
Hope for the best :-)
Chores are done.
I am ready to put on my jammies and settle down (as much as I can)
in front of the Big Screen...
Not sure what Lanny has planned for tonight.
I'll let you know.
Goodnight Family and Friends...
God bless you all and
Pleasant, Restfull Sleep!
“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28
