Ready for Dad...
he got up around 4:15...
Adorable ....
she likes to get over in my warm spot when I leave...
Greens are greening up...
I love green growing things, don't you?...
Three day germination...
into Black Out probably tomorrow...
I think my dog is broken...
Putting some Skittles and Fruity Marshmallows
into the Freeze Dryer for some orders...
And it's Sparkley Day...
I am feeding the Tabico crystals to perk them up...
I have ordered more... these are several years old
and while they can live forever
if the water and all conditions are just right,
that is not the case with city water...
even filtered water.
So I have to refresh my kefir grains every few years...
So here is the usual arrangement these days...
I am missing one hen and I think it is Susie...
she is the blind one that is terribly bullied...
I think she is sleeping in the duck house...
Anyway, out I go,
and she is right there waiting...
so all is well...
Had a little popcorn left over from last night...
The goats got a couple kernels of corn :-)
Then went back to their Timothy Hay...
Maggie on the hunt...
I was picking the tomatoes and peppers
and throwing small cherry tomatoes out to the chicks...
they love 'em, and I have SO many...
These little chocolate cherry tomatoes are fabulous!
They are so sweet, like candy!!
We love 'em!!!
Made the men Fried Eggs, Toast and Sausage
with sliced Tomatoes for Breakfast...
Took the Sparkley Berries out to the gang...
Today was Barber Shop Day...
yea, I wear a LOT of hats around here...
Daddy likes his buzzed VERY short...
Then we watched Calvary online...
We had left over Egg Salad Sandwiches for lunch...
And a little siesta after lunch...
The Goats were having a little snooze at the gate...
they were ruminating until I came out with more treats...
Lanny caught me on his camera out the kitchen window...
Captive audience!
Lanny brought up some fresh brush for the Kids...
they LOVE it!!
Even when it is hot she likes to be UNDER the hay...
Made a Chicken Vegetable Soup for today's dinner...
Mostly home preserved ingredients...
home canned chicken, freeze dried veggies and herbs...
I did add a can of diced tomatoes...
Made some cornbread
and sliced tomatoes and
VOILA!
YUM!!
After supper we try to go out
and talk to the critters for a little while...

Pepper would NOT leave her little nest under the ledge...
She can get out of the Goat House when she is finished...
They don't mind her in there...
Max joined us for a little while...
Last night we watched
"Nim's Island"...
we used to watch it with the kids but it's good
even without kids around...
Tonight we are watching
"In The Heart of The Sea"...
a true story on which Melville based his book "Moby Dick"
I like true stories :-)
