Quiet Time....
Tomorrow is Family Night so I often start preparing on Monday. Lately Monday has become Spaghetti Night... It's a favorite around here. So...I decided to make a huge pot of sauce and then have Pizza Casserole tomorrow night for the gang. The sauce cooked all day and our dinner was delicious.
I spent some time today mingling with the chickies and ducks, trying to get our new little "quackers" used to seeing and hearing me. They are not as skittish, although they won't let me get too near. They still don't understand about the treats...the chickens come running whenever I open the gate. But I have no doubt that the duckies will be doing it soon. There is always something about food that wins them over :-)
After supper Lanny and I went out to round up the ducks. By 5:15 the chickens were already on their roost and ready for lights out. I closed their coop door and we concentrated on the ducks. Lanny and I were able to slowly circle them and direct them toward their box and it was the cutest thing you ever saw...of course we have no video...they went into their box in a straight little line and we closed them in for the night...easy peasy!
I am already in love with these little beauties...
