Quiet Time...

Busy day...starting with the normal routine...Dad, chickens, ducks, dogs...
Then straight to the kitchen. I made an apple stack cake for our Family Thanksgiving tomorrow night...
Shoot me if I ever decide to make another one...just kidding, but it was NOT as easy as the recipe made it sound. It's pretty enough...just hope it's edible!!
I decided to do the 20 pound turkey in my pressure cooker. I had to cram that bird in there but it came out great! Two hours and it's falling off the bone. There are too many of us to carve one at the table so we usually just set out a serving platter of slices.
My Instant Pot is HUGE, and that 20 pound turkey just barely fit...
And I had an audience the whole time I was in the kitchen today...they could smell that turkey all over the house... I gave them a bite or two :-) ....who could ignore those sweet faces?
I also made a pan of Dressing to put in the oven tomorrow, and Cranberry Salad.
Tomorrow I will bake a Ham (some of our group LOVE ham and it will be a surprise treat for them), make some Sweet Potatoes and Marshmallows, Green Beans, Corn, Rolls, and Gravy for the Turkey slices. We also have the Stack Cake I made today and three bought pies...Pumpkin, Peach and Pecan...should be fabulous!!!

We had Pizza Casserole and Normandy Veggies for supper and now we are sitting here in our jammies with dogs all around us watching the second part of Ben Hur (the real one with Charlton Heston :-)...
Popcorn and maybe an Ice Cream Sandwich from the Snack Bar later :-)
