A Day in the Life / Wednesday, November 4

Quiet Time....the day after Election Day...

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

I let the chickies and duckies out at daybreak, and did my usual morning routine out there...filling their water and food dishes and offering them a few treats. The ducks are still shy but they don't run like they did the first day...and we are getting one beautiful egg each morning... there are three females so as they get older I hope to have more than one each day :-) ... maybe even some duckings eventually...

I love watching them out the kitchen window....

I have a large tub that they like to swim in and then this small gallon sized ice cream container I thought would be for the chickens...I think if I put out a tea cup of water these little quackers would try to get in it :-)

Daddy had an appointment with the Dermatologist to remove a basal cell carcinoma on his nose this morning and we were at the office from 10 am until around 3. The cancer was removed in one procedure and he was stitched up and sent home...that makes it sound so simple but it was quite a long ordeal for him. At 91 he is still the tough man I've always known :-) but it really was painful and stressful for him. I was able to watch the entire procedure and it was so interesting. I took photos and some are pretty graphic, so if anyone wants to see them you will have to message me :-)

This was around 10:30...the numbing process was very difficult...the nose is so sensitive and it was quite painful for him. But as I said, for a 91 year old man he was amazingly stoic!

This is around 3...the incision is about 2 inches long because the cancer was large and deep. They let me watch it all and the procedure to close that size hole is amazing...the doctor made it look so neat and clean,  and I'd say when it heals you might not even be able to tell it was ever there!

I thought we'd be home in time for me to make dinner so I made some jello dessert and some banana bread before we left... but we didn't make it early enough so Lanny went to the Food City and brought up some chicken and potato wedges... It was greatly appreciated because I was a bit tired :-)

He is at the church now for the Wednesday night services and I am watching Star Trek (my usual when Lanny is away). It may be too late to watch a movie...we may have to watch the end of Shrek :-)

Goodnight Y'all....
