A Day in the Life / Friday, December 25

Quiet Time....

"For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

Isaiah 9:6 KJV
*****
Well, it's Christmas morning and a "White" one at that!!
First time we've seen a white Christmas in a long time...

And it is REALLY COLD!!!

The chicks and ducks don't mind at all!! Burr!

And the MOST amazing thing of all..my little hummer buddy doesn't mind either...he came to the feeder and it was frozen so I had to bring it in to warm it up...they are still here!

Of course the fur kids are in NO hurry to get up to start the day...but I have to get busy. We will have a Christmas Dinner today in spite of the Covid! Danny cannot drive out in the snow and Rob is still coughing and doesn't want to expose Memaw and PawPaw so it will just be the five of us... so I have to start cooking!

I put the ham in the oven and Maggie is confused...she smells it but "Where did it go?" :-)

Murphy moved to a warmer spot...he loves the fire!!

...and Max loves sitting on the mantel above the fire...watching the TV Christmas music channel,,,,

...dough for the yeast rolls is in the mixer...

...after a 15 minute rise...

...in the pan and in the fridge until time to bake them... I will take them out two hours before baking so they can continue a slight rise and warm to room temp...then in the oven for 15 minutes...YUM!

The birds are very active around the feeders...

I sat down for just a minute or two and you guessed it...my little fur magnets are right here!

Awwwww...

Nearly time for dinner....

Dinner is served!!
Ham, Sweet Potatoes and Marshmallows, Green Beans, Potato Salad and Rolls...
Lanny is doing the honors...Dad's hands just can't handle the utensils anymore :-(

We ate til we were stuffed and then had Pecan Pie!
So Lanny and I needed a quick rest...

Maggie decided she loves the fire too! I hope they don't start fighting over it :-)

So, the chicks and ducks are in for the night, we are in our jammies early and doing another double feature...last night we watched Bourne Identity (it takes place at Christmas time...) and tonight we will watch the next two...lots of action!

Of course we will have popcorn and whatever else we find in the snack bar (trust me, it is always well stocked...too well).

Merry Christmas to all, and
"Goodnight Y'all"
