A Day in the Life / Thursday, December 24

Quiet Time...

“When they saw the star, they were filled with joy! They entered the house and saw the child with His mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped Him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭2:10-11‬ ‭

I read the Bible thru every year... this year I did it chronologically. Next year I will probably do it canonical or perhaps the Bible Project reading again. They do a video before each book to tell you about when it was written, what was happening, etc...I will also pick out some devotionals to share in my "Debbie's Corner" blog...I like to do the old ones I love but also add in a few contemporary writers...we shall see...

This was about 20 minutes before sunrise..cloudy and raining HARD!

Morning chores were not too bad because it was above 40 this morning, but pouring the rain...I did it quick. Then Lanny and I went down to the Food City to buy a few things for our Christmas Dinner tomorrow. Probably just Mom and Dad, Paula and Danny, me and Lanny...if Robbie isn't still coughing and snorting they may join us...if not, I will make them a nice take out :-)

Maggie and Murphy are feeling the Christmas spirit I guess...they usually don't stay this close to each other :-)

I made a big dinner mid day today: Left over Short Ribs, Stewed Potatoes and Chili Beans...we thought we would be at the Christmas Eve Service this evening...we were going to sing "O Holy Night", Mom, Paula, Me and Sadie...Mom and Paula backed out early on because of the weather report...Lanny and I were still going to go...we dressed and were nearly ready to head down the hill when the snow really started coming down...we don't have 4 wheel and just didn't want to risk it. I am so sad about it. Sadie was so looking forward to singing. We will definitely plan on doing something together soon!

Just wanted to clear up the rumor that Lanny and I spoil our fur kids...HA! who would sit on an uncomfortable old folding chair just because the kitty is snoozing in the comfy office chair?

So, Lanny and I are in our jammies and sitting here in front of the fire...we are going to watch "Nativity" again...I love it, and then who knows what else. We will have a double feature, eat popcorn and eat fudge...the perfect Christmas Eve when you cannot go to church :-( It is the first time we have missed Christmas Eve at Calvary in years!

Perhaps we will be waking up to a very White Christmas!!!

Goodnight Y'all...
