A Day in the Life / Tuesday, December 22

Quiet Time....

"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."

Luke 2:8-11

Morning chores done, and I headed down the hill to pick up Sadie...she is going to spend a couple days with us (she is out of school on Christmas Break).

It was still quite dark when I let the ducks and chicks out but they didn't seem to mind... they were in full force when we got home...

Sadie ate one of PawPaws donuts and I think it was a bit too sweet for her...she had a bit of a tummy ache and took a little snooze...I think she probably had not had quite enough sleep :-)

...because she felt just fine when she woke up :-)

The ducks are getting just as bad as the chicks...they hang around the gate waiting for me as well...

I was prepping off and on during the morning for dinner and then made us all some grilled cheese for lunch...when I decided to sit down for a few minutes I naturally had my Siesta crew...but Sadie worked on Origami as we rested...

I made a huge pot of short ribs...

They took about an hour in the Instant Pot...

Since we aren't having our usual Family Christmas gathering I made up some goodie bags for the gang...Sadie and I may try to deliver some of them tomorrow... I have so little space when we are all using the tables that I had to improvise...the top of the washer and dryer will do...

Sadie and Molly (socially distant, of course) were dreaming about landscaping...ponds and swimming pools for Rob and Molly...

Time for dinner.... Lanny decided on the side dishes...stewed potatoes and chili beans...

It was delicious!!!

*****

Dishes are washed, chicks and ducks are in bed for the night, we are in our jammiest and watching "Home Alone"...Sadies choice for the night...we will have popcorn and and ice cream cone from the snack bar and all is well in the world...at least, in our world...

Goodnight Y'all....
