A Day in the Life / Friday, February 19

Quiet Time...

“Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.”

I have two very favorite times of the day... my favorite is first thing in the morning when Lanny and I can sit on the couch together, with our fur kids and our Bibles and spend time with the Lord..the quiet, dark beginning of the day... 

God has blessed me so very much!!!!

My Bible Study and devotional reading lasts from around 4:15 to 6:00... unless Daddy has an emergency between those times :-)... so at 6 am I start my crazy morning...

Take Dad his meds and make sure he has water, straighten up his end table and desk and make his bed...

Then I feed the fur kids and Mr. Max...they start eyeing me around 6:15 :-)

I keep an eye out for first light...the ducks and chicks like first light...so do I...

Well, I thought it might be a fluke but two days in a row!!

Hopefully my third female duck is in full swing now...three a day is a good haul.. that's nearly 2 dozen a week if a few chicken eggs are thrown in!

The fur kids know exactly what to do on a cold morning...

Max is NOT happy about the way we have to manhandle him to give him his meds...I hate doing it but he still has some urinary infection and crystals in the urine...we MUST do it... he tries to hide under the dining table on Granny's chair :-)

What is that bright yellow thing in the sky this morning?

We have a little jeweled visitor every day...we have at least two because I've seen male and female...whether it's more than one of each I don't know for sure....but we know we have two!

I made Dad and Lanny some biscuits, toast and gravy for breakfast so Mom and Dad just wanted some snack crackers for lunch...I made Ramen for Lanny...

then we rested for a bit...

He went to Home Depot and got some roofing repair stuff so he could seal the spot above Mom's bedroom that leaked yesterday...always something...

I guess working with that roof sealer wasn't enough so he washed the car in this weather... :-)

Even Maggie and Murphy wondered what that crazy man was doing out there with the hose!

I warmed up the leftover Chicken Thighs, made some Green Beans and sliced Carrots and Potato Cakes out of the leftover mashed potatoes...we had Sock it to Me Cake for dessert...

Lanny took care of the Puppy Landmines and I put the chicks and ducks to bed...he is in the shower and I am sitting here in my jammies waiting to see what the adventure is for tonight...another end of the world movie since that is our theme for the week :-)

I guess you can figure out my second favorite time of day...it's right now... cuddled on the couch with my Sweetheart and my fur kids watching a movie...it never really matters what the movie is...it's just the moment...
