A Day in the Life / Thursday, August 5

Quiet Time...

“I wait for the Lord, my soul does wait, And in His word do I hope.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭130:5‬

*****
Willie says "Good Morning!"

Max joined us for awhile before he went back to Mom and Dad's quarters...
he likes it back there.

Headed outside around 6:40...every day the sun comes up just a little later...
..a very cloudy morning...

All the chicks were waiting anxiously... the new girls are doing fine.
Very skittish still, and Bossy does pick on them a bit, but she is just making sure that she is no longer on the lowest rung of the ladder :-)

Three duck eggs...
and later in the day I got an olive egg and a pinkish tan...
this morning there were two under the new roost but one was very soft.
I am sure the stress caused that. Hopefully in a day or two I will be able to tell who is laying what...

I believe the white gal laid this one. She was in the nest box for awhile and when she left, voila! I am pretty sure about this one.

Lanny and I had to run to Home Depot to pick up some paperwork for my fridge...I need to call for some service. Then we went to Tractor Supply to pick up Pine Flakes for the chicken coop. We also stopped by Aldi's and then Habitat for Humanity to drop off a couple sewing cabinets and an old machine.
Our Grandson and his wife work there (Isaac and Sky).

When we got home I went over to talk to the horses...and give them a carrot.
I don't want them to be mad :-)

Then I made Tuna Salad Sandwiches for the five of us...

...and Lanny and I sat down for a short rest...
of course the dogs joined us :-)

I roamed around the compound for a few minutes...
talked to Rob for a while and then took some Bacterial Treatment around to all the houses to put in the toilet...good for septic tanks... we NEVER want to deal with septic problems like the last time!!

Mom and Paula chatting on Paula's new porch...she has a little more to go but it's nearly finished...

For supper I made Shrimp and Buttered Noodles and Salad.
We always eat WAY TOO MUCH when we have that...
So good!

I put the new pine shavings in the coop and had cleaned all the water ponds and buckets a little while ago. We put the ducks in first and then started rounding up the chickens. For some reason, ALL of them were misbehaving. It was quite funny if you had seen us chasing them all over the yard. Willie was the worst! All the girls were in and Willie decided to lead us on a chase...but all is well that ends well. They are all in bed and we are in our jammies settling down for the night.

Gonna watch another episode of The Chosen. They are so good that we need to see them several times to get it all in!

Goodnight Y'all...
God bless us, every one!

Sweet Dreams
