COVID UPDATE: Saturday, October 16

EVENING UPDATE:

I took Dad and Lanny a shake. I was not able to go in to see Dad. They had to catheterize him earlier and he keeps taking his oxygen off and pulling out his IV. Please pray for him. His stats are not bad but he is SO confused and not responding to instructions very well.

Lanny is doing very well. He will most likely come home tomorrow. He is eating and everything looks good.

Mom hasn't felt well all day. The aFib episode has worn her out and she is very nauseated and weak - not wanting to eat. Pray for her. So much going on all around us right now and we need God's peace and comfort.

Thank you all for your prayers. We can feel them... keep it going :-)

NOON UPDATE:

Dad's doctor is putting him back in a Step Down Room. His stats are still pretty good but he doesn't "feel" as well as she would like for him to. He isn't eating or drinking and they may have to put him back on an IV. Pray hard for him that he will eat and have some peace...and follow doctors orders :-)

Lanny is doing well enough that he "could probably" have come home today, but one more night would be best. We do NOT want him to come home prematurely and end up right back down there. So he should be able to come home tomorrow, Sunday!!! Pray for his strength and for continued improvement. Even his blood sugar was low 100's this morning. He has experienced a miracle, I am sure :-)

After lunch I am going to take them a milkshake. Hopefully that will make Daddy feel better :-) I'll take some pics and update after that.

Mom had an aFib episode this morning. Pretty severe. Through deep breathing and relaxation techniques we managed to get her stable. Came real close to calling an ambulance. Her dog Casey had scratched himself into a bloody mess and that upset her a bit...probably contributed to her episode. Both she and Casey are "stable". Paula brought a doggy bootie over and we have him wrapped up like a Mummy so he won't scratch :-)... we will try anything!!

Thank you ALL for your prayers and please continue. Pray for my strength that I can continue to care for Mom and then care for Dad and Lanny when they come home.

Praise the Lord!!

MORNING UPDATE:

Nothing new to report at this hour. Dad's doctor calls me in the morning so I will have his report soon.

Lanny said that he was feeling well last night and had eaten his supper. He is still in good spirits. We did not talk, only communicated by text. He coughs when he talks and it's probably even harder on the phone. I will give an update when I hear from him and from his doctor. Perhaps we will have news of his projected discharge today.

Mom and I are still not feeling well, but we are on the mend. Mom's back is still giving her a considerable amount of pain (compression fractures in the spine). Pray for her and for her comfort. She is sleeping in her bed after sleeping in the chair for 6 weeks. That has helped her leg swelling.

God is good.
