Tuesday on the Farm... November 30

Quiet Time...

“Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭9:6‬

*****

Dad was still in bed when I got up. He had gone to bed early, got up around 11 and then went back to bed around 1...

Study Bundled Buddies :-)

Mitzi doesn't get under the blanket but she does like to snuggle her head...

Dad didn't get up until after 6, so I didn't have any interruptions during Quite Time...
I took him his meds, coffee and donut and then made the beds and fed the fur kids...
After piddling in the kitchen a bit I headed out at sunup to take care of the birds...
They got a bowl of dinner scraps...

Another day without a duck egg... :-(
What a life!!

I made some tuna salad sandwiches for lunch and then we rested for a bit...

Clinton Drug Store called and said my medicine had come in and was ready, so Lanny went down to pick it up. I dread taking it. I don't take medicines so I'm not anxious to start. This is a "beta blocker" and it will slow me down... in more ways than my heart, I am sure...we shall see. I may not want to take it for long.

Lanny went to pick up Sadie at the bus stop for Family Night and I am cooking and prepping for the meal.
Photos to follow...

Sadie and Papaw went four wheelin' before dinner :-)

Sadie won't have to take drivers ed!

Family Night... Rob dressed for the occasion :-)

Small crowd...James and Tasha and Olivia are still isolating :-(

We had Soup, Cornbread, Rolls, Pasta Salad, Brownies and Cake...
YUMM!!

Goodnight Y'all...
God bless you One and All!
Sweet Dreams...

Monday in the Mountains... November 29

Quiet Time...

“For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:13

*****

Dad was still in the bed when I got up, but got up immediately when he saw me go thru the hall...he was ready for coffee :-) He hadn't been asleep all night - he was up and down, but if he spends 4 hours in the bed, even split up, I consider it good. He needs to have his feet up. They are still so swollen.

Study Buddies... or should I say, Buddy Bundles :-)

I had a very early doctors appointment so I finished up the inside chores and had to let the chicks and ducks out while it was still dark...no pictures.

Lanny had to share his bowl of cereal with Max, of course...

Maggie waited patiently to lick the bowl :-)

Thaniel and Kate will be heading back home this morning...last morning to see their tiny house out here...
on my way to the doctors office...
sun is just now showing in the east...

Waiting for labs...
Look like a bank robber!

Doc said my heart is beating too fast so I am going to have to take something to slow it down. I hate medicine and this will be my first prescription in a LONG time... I'll go back in 30 days to see if it is helping.

Made Grilled Cheese and Fried Balogna for lunch...yum...

Then you can guess what we did :-)
Yep, nap time...

Just piddling around the house this afternoon. It is cold outside and I am kinda lazy in the winter months... just want to look at garden catalogs :-)

*****

For supper we had Panko Breaded Chicken Breast, Normandy Veggies and Macaroni and Cheese...also rolls...

Then Lanny hung my insulated/room darkening curtains in our bedroom doorway. The house has to stay pretty warm but we like a cold bedroom. SO... I close the vents in the bedroom, open the window, and put these curtains up to keep the cold in and the heat out...they also keep the cold out of the living room. We have a motion light on the chicken coop that comes on all thru the night when our little possum or raccoon friends walks by. That light would shine right in the door, reflect on the mirror and be right in our face...Problem solved. And Dad doesn't like closed doors these days so a curtain on our door is acceptable to him :-)

I had a single curtain on the inside til now, but it was not very pretty...
these look MUCH better... and they are even thicker... will keep out more heat.

So, curtains are hung, puppy piles are picked up, the kitchen is clean, the chicks and ducks are tucked in nice and snug, we are in our Jammies and ready to watch Star Trek: Search for Spock... :-)

Goodnight Dear Friends...
Thank you for your prayers...
God bless and Sweet Dreams!

Sunday in the Hills... November 28

Quiet Time...

“The people who walk in darkness will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, the light will shine on them.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9:2‬

*****
Had another bobcat visit last night...it was early, around 8:30.
This one also seems rather small. I don't mind them at all.
They eat rodents and don't seem to bother anything else...
and they are awfully cute!

*****

Dad went to bed about 11 last night (according to the motion monitor camera) and was in bed when I got up at 4...another pretty good nights sleep for him! He got up about 4:45 and I helped him dress and got him some coffee and a donut.

Then settled back in for Quiet Time...

Look at this lazy girl!

Mitzi is pretty lazy too :-)

Got up from the cozy couch at 6 and made the beds, got the meds out, checked on Dad's coffee, fed the fur kids and did a few things in the kitchen in prep for Sunday Lunch.

Then outside to the chicks and ducks...

No duck egg in the box!!!

The fish are chillin' on the pond bottom :-)

Then, I looked out the window and the duck egg had been laid in the driveway...I ran out to get it and didn't have my camera. So here is a photo from inside :-)

Honestly, this is NOT the same photo I keep posting every day.
They do this most of the day, EVERY day!!

Oh no! My dog is broken...

Had burgers for Sunday lunch...Thaniel and Kate are leaving tomorrow :-(
It's been SO nice to have them here for the last few weeks!

Lanny had to go back to church around 3...he has sound for choir rehearsal tonight and then the service.

I will feed Mom and Dad a little something for supper in a bit and then I'll put the chicks and ducks to bed and get ready for bed myself.

I will probably start over on the old Star Trek series tonight til Lanny gets home at 7:30. Then we might start watching Next Generation together. I watched all 7 seasons over this past year while he was at church working and since I enjoyed them so much he wants to see them too. So we will watch a couple each week until he sees them all too.

So, Goodnight Y'all...
God bless you and thank you for remembering us in your prayers. I know that's the reason Dad and Lanny are doing so well. God is good...

Love you and Sweet Dreams!!
