Quiet Time...
“For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.””
Jeremiah 31:25
*****
Dad was up... took him his inhaler, meds, ice water, thermos and cup and....
a Breakfast Burrito :-)
Then Quiet Time with my pack...
Us in the spy cam :-)
Removed the loafers from the bed at 6 so I could make it :-)
Then fed the fur kids and decanted the milk kefir...
Headed out at sun up to take care of the feathered kids...
it was SO nice this morning.
No coat, just my short sleeved shirt...
Feels like spring!
My one duck egg...
Trash burning day...
Made Dad and Lanny Fried Eggs, Sausage and Toast...
Mom and I just wanted a piece of toast...
Cleaned up the kitchen and headed down the hill to get our new hens...
Passed the Shetlands...
And Oreo the Big Bull!
and this Handsome Fellow...
I couldn't get a good picture because someone was behind us...
Kill Joy :-)
I love seeing cows on a hillside...
Nice drive out to Jennifer's homestead...
We picked up the four hens and headed home...
Dad and Paula were in the driveway...
Dad had not seen the puppy yet :-)
We opened the cages and let the hens out...
they were a bit nervous so we let them be while we had lunch...
Turkey and Ham on Hawaiian Rolls...
YUM...
No nap today, too many fun things going on...
My three hens stuck close together...
They were a bit put out but there is very little aggression...
...the new hens kept apart as well, but found the food and water and quickly started hunting and pecking...
And one of the Pearl Whites went right into the coop and laid an egg...
not in a box, but hey, it was IN the coop...
And it is a lovely pearl white :-)
Then in no time there were two more...
one under the little steps in the lot and one in the coop floor next to the other one...
They will learn :-)
And here is Bucky enjoying the new ladies.
They don't like his amorous moves yet, but they are tolerating him.
He is so cute... he stomps and dances sideways at them.
I will try to get a video. It is just too cute to describe!
My Bee Balm is really coming up in this pot!!!
Monarda...
Bucky is trying to share food... he picks up a piece of something from this compost pile and makes the sweetest little sounds... Coconut always responds but these new ladies just don't understand his love language yet :-)
Lanny is "winching" and "turnbuckling" up a storm...
He has SO much fun doing these kinds of projects.
He is very ingenious and inventive...
This was actually quite exciting...
we weren't sure if the line would snap, the turnbuckle hold...
but VOILA!!! Perfect!!
This is one of the Pearl Whites and the Aracauna...
This is the brown one... Jen isn't sure what kind she is, but she is definitely feisty!
She is the only one that was shocked by the electric fence...twice!!!
The next challenge will be getting them to go into the coop for bed... I may have to leave the door open until after dark and hope they go in on their own...
then I can sneak out and close the door...
We shall see :-)
For supper we had soup made with the left over cabbage, taters and carrots...
I added some green beans, corn and diced tomatoes and
VOILA!! SOUP!!!
Also cornbread and salad and
BROWNIES!!
Then after the dishes were washed we ran down the hill to get the mail.
Any chance we get to "go" somewhere it is like a little date...
it's only 5 minutes, but hey! it's still really nice :-)
Mail!!
So, tonight we will watch Spiderman Homecoming...
it's the only one we have never seen so it will be interesting.
Goodnight Y'all...
We love you, each and every one :-)
God bless and Sweet Dreams!
Oh, wish me well putting up the chickens and ducks tonight...
I'll let you know tomorrow how that goes...
