Monday on the Mountain... May 16

Quiet Time...

“There is therefore now no condemnation
for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:1‬

*****
Dad was up...
took care of him and then...

Sat down with Maggie and Murphy under their blankets...
and Mitzi keeping her Daddy's spot warm...
He came in about 5...

Took care of the bed and fed the fur kids
and headed out to the feathered kids...

Back on schedule...
two duck eggs!

Broken record, I know, but ... I LOVE MORNINGS...
and morning skies!

So I headed out to see the sky (and the horses)
at the other end of the barn...

They heard me coming...
Carrot Time!

Dandy...

Takoda...

And ears back fussing at each other!

Paula's Iris are still pretty...
holding up under this hot sun!

Two toned!

WOW is all I can say...
Even so, come quickly Lord!
Look to the East...

Outdoor Chore time... early morning is the best time to work out here...
we haven't had the rain that we expected so I had to water again...
I won't water so much after everything settles in
but at first I hate to leave them on their own...
flowers AND veggies...

And the ducks were entertaining me the whole time!

Lanny is still mounding up the sweet potatoes to keep them moist...

Gabby and Penny culling a few tadpoles and froglets...

8 am Breakfast: Eggs, Sausage and Toast...

I was talking to Paula over the fence and these three wanted to join me SO bad...
I just don't let them out into the chicken/duck lot anymore...
you already know why!! :-)

Popcorn, Sugar, Goldie and Willow...

Made left over Sloppy Joes for lunch...
Paula joined Dad and me...
Mom wanted peanut butter and crackers in her room
and Lanny had to run down to talk to the neighbor...

Our sweet neighbor Mike came up to move some gravel for us...
Lanny mentioned to him this morning that we were going to rent a front loader
and he said "no way", and came up to do it...
Lanny missed his lunch at the usual time, but I gave him a Sloppy Joe around 2 :-)
Moving that gravel saved us several hundred dollars!!!

The horses were not the least bit offended by the noise!

He filled in the run off ditches that Lanny had dug
and will come back to spread the remaining gravel on the dirt road...

Paula and I walked down to check it out...
down was no problem but back up is HARD!!!
Old lady knees :-)

Paula's pasture and the pole barn looking up from the "new" road...

Mike coming down with a load...

Lanny went down to the pond to pull out some more weeds and algae
and plans to take Dad down to fish a bit after dinner,
so I went out back to piddle in the yard ...
it is way too hot to work, so I mostly just played with the chickens
and watched the ducks swim for tadpoles!

Threw together some left overs for Supper: Pinto's, Fried Taters, Potato Cakes
(made with left over mashed potatoes), some Macaroni and Tomatoes,
Greens and Cornbread...
We are all full... that is the goal, right? :-)

Mom ate in her room.
Lift her up in your prayers with some extra emphasis :-)
Her back is better but now she just won't eat. I am giving her Boost (the high calorie one) and will start tomorrow giving her three a day. At least that will be enough vitamins, and actually enough calories for the day... anything she eats will be bonus. She is also not drinking enough water and that is even more problematic.

Lanny is taking Dad down to the big pond to fish a little.
Dad LOVES that... wish we could find something Mom loves....
They had to take the truck because the MULE battery is acting up...

A Coconut egg... that makes 7 today!

Lanny picked up the puppy piles before he left and I put the chicken feeders away. The kitchen is clean and I will maybe watch a Star Trek episode til they get back.
I think tonight we will watch "Ruthless People"... it's a funny one!!!
Danny DeVito and Bette Midler...

Goodnight Sweet Family and Friends...
God bless you all, real good!!!

Sweet Dreams!
