Tuesday in the Hills... July 19

Quiet Time...

"But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do:
for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth
what things ye have need of, before ye ask Him.
Matthew 6:7-8 KJV
*****
Daddy was up... I made him a couple Biscuit Roll Ups this morning ...

Then settled in with Maggie and Murphy...
Lanny came in a bit later...

At 6 Max (who can tell time, by the way) was giving me the eye...
he knows when it is breakfast time!!

I made our bed and fed the fur kids...
The starter that I prepped last night is bubbling nicely
and I will make bread this morning...

I also decanted the Kefir and will take the berries out to my chickies and ducks...
(they are FULL of probiotics... even chickens benefit from probiotics!!)

It is getting light a little later every morning...
the days are getting shorter...
gives me a little break!

Amber is still alive... I have absolutely NO clue as to how...
I make her drink several times a day and leave her a little food
but it is amazing that she has been this way for a week and a half...

And her sister Opal still watches over her...

Gabby and Penny left their eggs in the corner of the coop...
where they belong and NOT in the middle of the floor :-)

The fish also wait for me in the morning...

Berry time...

Only 1 1/4" rain last night but it was hard and fast!!!

OK, so here we go!
22 Pounds of Green Beans waiting to be canned!!

That is a LOT of beans... my books say that I need 2 pounds of beans
per quart so we shall see...

Well, that was WAY off... Here is 14 quarts and I still have a LOT left...

Ended up filling 15 pint jars as well!
Had to use two double decker canners!

The bread is going into the oven...

For lunch we had some left over hot dogs, fish sandwiches with the left over fish sticks, chips and watermelon... nice filling lunch...

The beans are out of the canners and cooling on the counter...
the lids were popping like crazy!!
...looks like they ALL sealed!

Bread's done...
I LOVE the smell of homemade bread right out of the oven!

Time for a little rest!!!
I think I will sleep VERY well tonight!!!

Then I remembered that there were also some bell peppers on the porch that needed to be fixed... Jen sent them over as well. They are multicolored and very nice
so I cut them up, blanched them and will dehydrate them
for winter stews, soups and sauces...

My Lanny is a most precious Hubby!!
I didn't even think to ask and was already thinking about
what I was going to make for dinner and he said NO!!!
He is cooking Chinese :-) He is right now on his way down to the China Inn in Clinton to pick up our dinner... YUM!!! We are all Chinese Food Fans!!!

Oh MY!!! Lanny is such a good cook :-)
I ate WAY TOO MUCH!!
But it was SO good....

*****

Lanny picked up the puppy piles,
I will head out and put the chicken feed away
and try to get Amber to eat and drink a bit...

Tonight we will watch Iron Man 3...
I love Iron Man :-)

We may also watch a Picard episode if the movie is over before 8...

I am pleasantly worn out... I love cooking and canning
and doing all the homemaking things around here...
and it's a good thing because I have to do a LOT of that!!
God is good, no doubt about it!!!

Goodnight Family and Friends!
We love you and God loves you
and we pray His sweetest blessings upon each and every one of you...

Goodnight and Sweet Dreams!!
