Thursday in the Hills... August 4

Quiet Time...

“But I say to you, love your enemies
and pray for those who persecute you,”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:44‬ ‭ESV‬‬

*****
Our power went off around 9 last night...
We have eBulbs in Mom and Dad's room so they do have light
but after 4 or 5 hours they get pretty dim. I worried about that all thru the night
and didn't sleep well. I took one of the really bright eBulbs into their bathroom
and turned it on so that they could see it from their doorways
in case they needed to get up...

Finally around 2:45 the lights came back on...
just in time for me to get up for the day :-)
Anyway, Dad got up when he saw the living room lights...

So I got his morning goodies together
and made him a Breakfast Burrito
and he was good to go...

Lanny and I sat down for our morning study time...
Max joined us...

I love this little blanket... so do the pups...

Finished up around 5:45, made the bed,
fed the kids and waited for the morning light...

Only one inch of rain for all that hubbub and downed lines!!

Gabby laid her egg right in the doorway...

Penny laid hers properly...

Grubs are picking up...
the chickies and ducks are SO happy...

Max loves sitting in Mom's window...

And Mitzi loves the pillows on Mom's bed!

Lanny is still playing out in his shop with the rocket stove...
it really works!
Just made out of cans and burns twigs!

Goldie...

Decanted the Sparkley and the chickies were thrilled with the berries...

But Opal was thinking about an egg and didn't come out...

Goldie was thinking about one too,
so they didn't get berries this morning...

We had a drip under the sink
so I had to call my plumber in from his shop :-)

Awwwww... Opal's second egg...

Olive green...

For lunch we had Grilled Cheese Sandwiches...

Then we napped...
VERY nice after a sleepless night...
Pups all around...

Robbie is weed eating....

And he almost decapitated a frog!
That little guy jumped out of the way and was moved to a safer spot!

Lanny is getting the fire pit stocked up for a bon fire probably tomorrow...
he likes to do it when it has rained just to be safe...
he covers it with screening so the ash doesn't fly up...

Mom was showing me how strong a nearly 92 year old woman can be...
she can wrestle that afghan into submission...
covering her feet AND her arms!!
if you have never tried to wrestle an afghan you won't get it :-)

Willow egg...
total of 6 eggs today!

For Supper we had Mexican Pizza's...
Made it with the left overs from last nights
Make Your Own Mexican...

Lanny picked up the pup piles...
I put up the chicken feed...

...Our new printer cam in...
the old one was no longer communicating with the ink cartridges...
Go figure. It went thru two Christmas Calendar runs...
that is a LOT of printing...
I am proud of that little HP...

Tonight will be the last Marvel...
...End Game...
...makes me cry!

Goodnight Family and Friends...
God bless us, Every One.
God bless the USA...
and
Sweet Dreams!
