Friday on Walden's Mountain... January 27

Quiet Time...

"But my God shall supply all your need
according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

Philippians 4:19 KJV

*****

We went to bed at 8 and Mom slept all night...

Dad didn't get up until about 4:45...
I made him a Breakfast Burrito when he got up
and resumed our Quiet Time...

These two trays are ready to harvest today or tomorrow...

Two day sprouts under weight...

This three day tray is peeking out
and ready to go into black out...

Great root structure!!

My lettuce under lights..
Not too bad... just not enough of it :-)
I use this and a purchased Spring Mix for our salads...

Bundle of Puppies...

I am rethinking the packaging of the treats...
someone suggested resealable bags... the other ones are cute tied with a bow
but not practical if you don't want to eat the whole bag...
so, what do you think?
Same amount of candy...

Flock and Fluffle Time...

Looky here!!!
Penny (the duck) laid an egg...
the reason I know it is Penny is because her eggs
have always been elongated and oddly shaped...
I sure hope Gabby gets back to laying again...
I miss the duck eggs!!!
The ducks lay on the floor of the coop
and dig a really deep nest hole...
so cute!

Gabby is getting her voice back but believe me it is MUCH louder than this!!

Made Dad and Lanny a couple Waffles,
Scrambled Eggs and Sausage...

Dozing Fishies....

One chicken egg so far today...

Lanny ran down the hill to pick up the dog food from Tractor Supply
and made two candy deliveries!!! We are on a ROLL!!!

I fixed some Tuna Fish, sliced Cheese, Vienna Sausage,
chips and Salsa and Saltines for lunch...

Then I harvested some Microgreens...
aren't they SO pretty!!!

This is a 2/2.5 ounce bag, about two good handfuls...
enough for five or six salads
(I make salad for five and usually use two pinch handfuls)...

This is a 3/3.5 ounce bag and at least three good handfuls...
I am thinking $4 for the 2 ounce and $5 for the 3...
What do you think? My research shows that is pretty competitive...

Took the roots and short stems out to the chicks and ducks!

They love it...
Roo is still being a stinker and I have to carry my stick!!

So here is my usual Salad routine...

We love the spring lettuce mix or our own baby lettuce.
This will make up half the salad (this is the bowl I am making for supper tonight for 4)

UPDATE: This ended up being just a little too much for four tonight :-)
...and I ate three servings!
Those Microgreens pack a punch!!!
But nothing goes to waste...
the ducks and chickens also LOVE Microgreen Salad!!! :-)

Then I add two hands full of greens...

It's just a pinch and pull... not too much...

Then I use my mandolin to cut thin slices of English Cucumber but you can peel regular cucumbers and slice them as well... if I have a really good tomato I might add that but for this salad these ingredients seem to be perfect...

Add your favorite oil (olive, avocado, sunflower)
and vinegar (we love the balsamic, but the wine vinegars are great too) ....
toss and serve!! Salt and Pepper of course and I sprinkle LOTS of granulated garlic...

Three more!!
Makes 5 for the day!!!

I had a little frozen pizza from Aldi's
and doctored it up with some of our freeze dried
bell peppers, onions and garlic...

Not bad! Especially with a great Salad!!

So, the chores are done...

Lanny picked up the puppy landmines...
I put the chicken feed away...

I think we will be watching Denzel Washington movies for the next few days...

Not sure what is next... Lanny will surprise me!

Goodnight Family and Friends!

God bless and Sweet Dreams!!
