Quiet Time...
"The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
Psalm 23:1-2 KJV
*****
Rise and Shine!
Dad got up around 5...
I was ready for him...
Waiting Patiently...
Study Time with my Pack!!
Casey begging for some
Biscuit Rollup ...
Murphy didn't come in to join us
until I was nearly ready to get up and start my morning chores...
he often stays in our bed for awhile after we get up...
No changes today...
watered, and checked each tray,
all is well
Out to the Barnyard!!!
The are so comfortable together...
perfect barnyard companions...
but the ducks aren't crazy about the goats...
Actually, the ducks aren't crazy about anything
except the other ducks :-)
This is our little resident Tree Swallow...
the pair has set up housekeeping
in the prior Blue Bird Nest...
And they are hard at work!!!
The egg is so tiny!
Hungry Fishies!!!
The Elephant Ear is coming up!
Blossom is pulling fur
but NOT putting it into the nest box...
She may well be a Momma soon...
The Goats weren't interested in the Microgreens this morning
but did like the lettuce...
Lanny brought up fresh Blackberry and Kudzu branches...
He brought up some Ferns from our woods last night
and I planted it this morning...
gave Paula one as well...
Penny laying in the coop corner...
where it belongs!!!
Some days Casey is determined
to lay exactly where I need to be!
Made the men some Fried Duck Eggs,
Sausage Patty and Toast...
Been weeding since sunup in the herb garden...
Peppers and Spinach along the outside fence...
it may be getting too hot for the spinach to thrive...
but I can feed it to the critters...
Perennial wild things
on the back side of the herb garden...
And the other fern among them...
I wanted a fern by the Koi Pond...
last year we bought a Boston Fern
but I figured a native one would be better
and may come up year after year...
Murphy is talking to the goats thru the fence...
Making the last of the bread for a big order tomorrow...
thank you Joan for this order...
hope your office mates LOVE it...
Lanny is putting up a little barrier under the lowest ledge
to keep the ducks and chickens from laying eggs under there...
they are hard to gather and it would be the perfect place
for a snake to sneak a treat without notice...
Of course, you cannot work out here without help!
Aren't they adorable...
We just love 'em to pieces!!!
Any time we are out with them
and especially if we sit down
they are all over us...
nibbling, licking and wanting in our laps...
they are so much fun...
Lanny took Dad with him to the bank...
as I have said, Dad never gets out of the car
but loves to ride...
I was baking and didn't go in and out as much as I often do
so they hung around the kitchen gate a lot this morning...
Bread is rising in the warm oven...
If Dad didn't have neuropathy so bad in his legs and hands
I am sure he would be right there with Lanny
working every minute.
He has no feeling at all in his feet so cannot stand or walk
more than just to transfer from one seat to another...
and can hardly hold his eating utensils or pencils...
Bread is nearly done...
YUM!!!
These are yours Joan!
We decided to do something we hadn't done in a while...
sit down and rest after lunch...
I gave the men some left over soup and crackers...
then Lanny and I rested a bit...
Penny is out running around...
she is still brooding but with no eggs...
I keep taking the fake ones from under her
but she just moves into the other nest with the eggs...
not sure how to get her off and back into the flock...
it is a shame, but I think the other hens
were breaking the eggs, not her...
Willow
Opal
Sugar
This was the old dirt in the pot that I used for the fern...
I dumped it and they LOVE to dig in it!
Planted two new trays...
Ready to Harvest...
Trays to the critters...
Rotisserie Chicken, Fries and Microgreen Salad...
Willie will NOT stay out of my lap...
Lanny cut up a Watermelon
and brought out the rinds to my babies...
AND!!!
We have Baby Bunnies...
at least four...
I didn't want to mess with them
and dig around for more,
even tho Momma didn't care at all
that I was touching them..
I'll give her a couple days and check the babies out...
I'll keep you posted, of course! :-)
Eight eggs today...
Well exciting day!
Time to call it over!
Ready for Jammies, the couch, and watermelon...
We are going to watch "Contact" tonight
with Jodi Foster and Matthew McConaughey...
Goodnight Family and Friends...
God Bless
and
Sweet Dreams!
