Thursday on Walden's Mountain... August 31

 Quiet Time...

"The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart;
And saveth such as be of a contrite spirit."
Psalm 34:18 KJV
*****
Good Thursday Morning!

Maggie was waiting for me to sit down...
...first thing in the morning I have to look all over for little gifts
from a couple of the pups...
I won't go into details... :-)
then I go out and open the big bay doors...
if Dad is up I make three or four trips into his room
with his meds and water,
his coffee, then his breakfast...
I put his socks on and make his bed
for his "after 1st breakfast" sleep shift :-)

THEN I can go sit down
for Quiet Time and Pack Time...

Maggie is first to join me and then usually Murph comes on in...

Lanny has to check his blood sugar and take his insulin before he sits down...
but then we are snuggling on the couch
with our Bible and each other...
and of course, the Lord!!!

Around 5:30-5:45 I go in to check on the Microgreens...
This is second day germination...

I harvested most of my trays yesterday
so I have to get my crop going again...

Brought Max in from the bed (so I could make it)
and he liked where I parked him...
He is so handsome...
he is filling out as he ages
and he has trouble coming in the gate thru the slats...
we all tend to fill out as we get older don't we :-)

After I make the bed and feed the fur kids
it is usually about time to go out...
Barnyard Time

My little Opal died last night.
I knew she was close.
She was my blind neurotic girl...
She was quirky and I will miss her.
That leaves us with 16 hens and Mr. Bucky Roo...

And the four duck hens...
little bulldozers!

Baby often semi-reclines to eat...
I guess it feels better than leaning over :-)

Well, our fish are dying...
all of a sudden
and we can think of nothing that would cause it.
We have emptied half the water and added fresh (in case something got in it)
but I think it's too late...
We've had fish for years and never had this happen...
if they all die we will empty it and clean it
and leave it empty until next spring and start all over...
...very sad!

We were working out there so I made Lanny another "working" Breakfast Taco...
and Dad slept til about 9 so I made him some Cinnamon Toast...

I was weeding and throwing weeds over the fence for all the critters
but Fiona wanted the grape
that is growing on the inside of the fence :-)

Sparkley Day...
still feeding so it is small amounts...
But I did get my new grains today
so will start a bigger batch next time...

Still had a few berries...

Today was Dad's Shower Day...
Bethany is so sweet to Dad...
she lotions him head to toe :-)

Then I fixed us a Grilled Cheese Sandwich...
Dad and I split one...

Murphy sunbathing..

Doing some dirt moving...
a couple of bottomless buckets that didn't make nice...
I needed more soil in my Verbena...

Out the kitchen window...
are they not adorable!!!

For supper I made BLT's...
Had some yummy fresh tomatoes
and figured this would be the perfect use for them!

And then some Banana Bread Pudding
(you remember my booboo the other day
leaving out the sugar)...
it was great then with the vanilla sauce
and great today with vanilla ice cream!!

Day is done...
...been a sad one with so many of the critters dying...
Opal the hen and then all but two of the fish so far...
but I think they are not going to make it...
...that is just part of life
and especially part of life on a farm...
it happens...

Tonight we will watch
Miss Congeniality...
there are two of them...

Goodnight Family and Friends...
God Bless
and
Sweet Dreams!

Friday on Walden's Mountain... May 10

Quiet Time... “O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, in a dry and weary land ...
