A Day in the Life / Saturday, April 3

Quiet Time....

“As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:14-15

Sweet time with my honey and the fur kids this morning...
Max stayed on his tree perch...I think the fire felt good to him...

Murphy didn't feel well this morning...I think he eats bugs and who knows what else out in the yard... he didn't eat breakfast but he did eat supper later in the day, so he is OK...

Finished Bible Study and made our bed... did some things in the kitchen until puppy breakfast time (I try to wait until around 6:15 or so...they would eat at 4 AM if I'd feed them :-)...

Then I headed out to take care of the chicks and ducks...

You can just barely see the morning star...

We've had a morning moon for the last few days... Lovely!!

Yes, it was COLD!!

Three duck eggs... as a reminder, the ducks lay at night and the chickens lay later in the morning...

As you can see, the ducks like ice water...I break up the ice and they dive right in!

Lanny and I headed down the hill around 7:45 for our Breakfast Date at Hoskins...

We stopped at Home Depot to pick up some hinges for Paula.... they had the Kids Workshop packs out front so we picked up one for Sadie and dropped it off at her house... she loved doing the Kids Workshop at Home Depot every first Saturday... they said they will start doing it again soon...

Got home and did some laundry and cleaned up the chicken coop and duck house...
and my chicks gave me some eggs today :-)

Lanny took the truck and ran back down the hill for some lumber to continue his pond deck project...

The dogs cannot seem to forget last nights salmon...

Maggie is the only one that will sit in the hammock with me... it was actually HOT sitting there in the sun...LOVE IT!!

The chicks and ducks love Lanny's truck...who knows why...

Maggie and I have a very close relationship... :-)
...she looks so deeply in my eyes and actually hugs and cuddles...
AND kisses. What can I say...she is my girl!!

I went out to see what Paula was up to...couldn't find her (she had already gone in) but I did find Luke sunning in the drive...

...and the horses grazing in the pasture... Dandy is out there but he is camouflaged by the trees!

The pond is coming along...

I made Kraut and Wieners, Yams, Carrots and Celery, fresh Collards and Mustard Greens, Garlic Toast, and Applesauce and Chocolate Chip Brownies for Dessert...

Dad and Lanny went out after supper to work a little more and enjoy the evening sun... Dad said he has the best job..."Observer" :-)

The dogs love to hang out with us...especially when it's sunny and warm...

Man talk....

Lanny is cleaning up the tools and putting them under cover for the night...I am showered and in my clean jammies and finishing this post...

... the yard is picked up, the chicks and ducks are in bed, their ponds and buckets are full of clean water...

I think we will be watching "Star Trek, Search for Spock" tonight...since dinner was light (low cal) we will be having popcorn and probably a little ice cream...

Goodnight Y'all....
God bless the USA!

A Day in the Life / Friday, April 2

Quiet Time....

“But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing up His garments among themselves.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭23:34

*****
From last night... I have admirers when I am eating ice cream...notice Maggie and Mitzi are licking their lips...I do give them bites...

The morning started out nicely but Daddy got up coughing...I had to settle him down...it isn't his COPD...he has congestion in his throat...I think he needs something for sinus... anyway, it took me awhile to take care of that...

Then we heard noises in the wall..I think our mouse buddies are back...
Max thinks so too...

After I leave the couch everyone spreads out!

I took care of Dad, got his meds and made the beds and waited for sunup...

It was COLD, but everyone was ready to get out...

Three eggs...

We headed down the hill early so Paula and Shelly could go after mulch and wood chips later this morning...

We drove over a coal filled train as we crossed the bridge...

...and passed some of my cow friends :-)

We bought some scratch grain for the chickens and ducks and a three drawer rolling storage bin so I can start a mealworm farm for my birds...I did it a few years ago and Sadie loved it...she will be thrilled to help me again...

Max was sunning in the drive when we got back...

Rob and James and Austin have been hard at work all week...

Lanny went out to Danny's to help repair some squirrel damage and I sat down to read some DIY and Gardening books but the dogs had other ideas... they LOVE for us to sit down on the couch...

More pictures of construction...

Paula and Shelly went for more playground chips for the corral...it keeps the mud down in the horse pasture...

I decided to make salmon cakes for supper and when I opened the cans I had a VERY captive audience! So, I added some of the skins and juices to their dog food and they were all VERY interested in their dinner today!

Then, I could not get a moments rest from my little shadows...

They thought I might drop some, but no such luck!

Lanny is working on the pond again...tomorrow is supposed to be a little warmer and sunny so we may get some decking up...

The fish were a little sluggish today....it is COLD!

So, I made Salmon Cakes, Macaroni and Tomatoes, Twice Baked Potatoes, Sliced Beets, Green Beans...I just LOVE salmon cakes, and so do the rest of my gang...

Lanny took care of the Potty Patrol and mowed the back yard...
I put the chicks and ducks to bed...

Now we are in our Jammies and getting ready to watch Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan...one of our favorites!

Goodnight Y'all...
We love you!!

A Day in the Life / Thursday, April 1

Quiet Time....

“but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:7-8

*****

Nice and quiet this morning...can't say enough how much I love our mornings together, with the fur kids cuddled on the couch, and our Bibles....God is SO good!

Maggie kinda likes it too...

I took care of everything I could inside... our bed, the dogs and cat, some kitchen chores...Dad is regularly sleeping in these days so I have to take care of his stuff in reverse order...

Cold morning, but I don't think it got as cold as the weather person thought it would...
I hear it WILL tonight!

The ducks are back to normal...they do not seem to miss that Bad Boy Drake...the whole flock (chicks and ducks) seem more settled and contented...he was just TOO aggressive!! Three eggs! Hoorah!

The females are all resting with their heads in their wings and the drake is keeping watch...on one leg!

Lanny ran me down to the Food City early...I needed a few critical items and we wanted to get back early...little projects are all over the place around here...

The boys are working so hard out there...I think it will be really close to "move in" very soon... Rob and Molly are so ready to be home!

I made soup for Mom and Dad, and Lanny ate left over Spaghetti for lunch...I had left over Mexican burritos and soft taco's from yesterday, so I warmed those up and made some Nachos (chips and melted cheese) and took it out to those hard working boys... well, a little later Austin came in and told me that was the best lunch he had ever had...I gave him a really big hug! Virus or no!!! He is such a fine young man...my grand nephew by marriage (Molly's sister's son)...I love my family...ALL of them!!!

Lanny and I settled down for a little snooze...we haven't been snoozing much with the warm, sunny weather, but it was COLD today, so we cranked up the fire and settled in!

My little Maggie girl...she is MY GIRL!! :-)

The chickens are on a roll as well...two or three a day most of the time...

I made one of my (and pretty much everyones) favorite comfort, cold day meals...
Buttered Egg Noodles and Shrimp and Normandy Veggies with added Bell Peppers and Onions... throw in some buttered and garlic topped Crescent Rolls and Oh!...
so good and just one more meal that I over indulge in!

So, the Potty Patrol is done, the chicks and ducks are snug as bugs in a rug... they have clean ponds and water buckets and all the bird feeders are full...

I am in my jammies and Lanny is in the shower... we are going backwards with the Star Trek movies so tonight will probably be the first movie from way back...
Star Trek the Motion Picture 1979...

I am a Trekky, no doubt about it!

Goodnight Y'all...
Love to you ALL...
God bless us, every one!!
