I had to get up a bit early to take care of everything I need to do in the morning...

we are going to our friend Jen's house to process some more chickens!!

We were able to spend our 90 minutes in Quiet Bible Study and Devotionals...

then I headed outside.

Two duck eggs...

and later in the morning Bossy laid her white chicken egg in just about the same spot!

Grub time...

We headed for Lenoir City to work on chickens!

The are Cornish Cross... meat birds.

Scalding the dead bird...

No more plucking... this is a great way to remove feathers...

Jen and one of her sons demonstrating how to process a chicken!

We brought home six birds today...they are SO large.

Like small turkeys!!!

Very exciting!

Lanny and I stopped by Freddy's on the way home and had lunch...

when we got home I made grilled cheese for Mom and Dad.

No nap... had to head down the hill to pick up Sadie at the bus stop...

her first day of Middle School!

However... the driver did not stop at her drop off and she had to ride to the end of the line before she was brought back to her stop... We were waiting for some time :-)

When we got home Sadie drove me to the big pond to feed the fish...

Fed the chickens and ducks some grubs that I saved from this morning...

Bossy snuck in to the duck house to lay her egg :-)

I warmed up the Spaghetti and the Chicken and Rice from last night...

Lanny and I were still full from lunch :-)

Lanny left for church around 5 and took Sadie home.

I put the chicks and ducks to bed and gave them fresh water.

I am cleaned up and in my jammies finishing this post...

I will watch a few Star Trek episodes until Lanny comes home.

Too late for a movie.

A Day in the Life / Tuesday, July 27

Quiet Time....

Skipper and Casey waiting for me to open their gate...

we keep a gate between our part of the house and Mom and Dad's so that each set of dogs stays where they belong during the night :-)

We spent our usual hour and a half in quiet Bible Study...

then I hit the floor running!

The ducks made me get my morning stretch...

laid their eggs at the back of the house!

Lanny and I worked on the chickens I brought home yesterday...

they are huge!

I brought home a couple roosters that were like small turkeys!!

We are going back today to help process more and I will bring home a few...

I need another freezer!!

We had a busy day and I didn't take a lot of pictures.

It's Tuesday, so much of it was spent in the kitchen :-)

We had some left over dishes that I had stored in the freezer:

Chicken and Rice and Spaghetti.

I added Salad and other condiments and it was as good the second time as the first!

It was late when everyone left so no movie.

We were mighty tired anyway, so we went to bed.

From last night...Dad went to church with Lanny...

Another Willie Good Morning Call..

Max joined his Daddy for Bible Study this morning..

I headed out at 6 to greet the morning...

Grub Time...

Two eggs this morning but separated...never seen them lay like that before.

Of course, they may have been jumping around waiting for me to open the door and knocked them apart...

I went to my friend Jens this morning to learn how to butcher and prepare chickens...

just in case I want to do that someday.

Very interesting..

I took long videos that I can't load here, but trust me, it was a great lesson!!

And I brought home 5 fresh birds that I did myself!!

Rested for a few minutes before I started dinner...

Here is a bowl of both chicken and duck eggs...

my ducks are a small breed so there isn't a lot of difference, but you can tell...

French Toast, Omelettes, Biscuits and Fried Apples...

All the chores are done, inside and out, and we are going to watch another few episodes of The Chosen!
