Quiet Time...
No emergencies last night so we were actually in bed by 8:30 :-)
And, by the way, we watched Die Hard...
After our morning Bible reading and devotional time, at around 6, I make the bed (usually around a sleeping cat), take Dad his inhaler and morning pills...yes, he is up when we get up at 4-4:30... I make his bed even tho he will nap several times, and then head back to the kitchen to make the dog breakfasts...five of them.
This morning I made some sardines and sprouted wheat berries for the chickens and ducks and no matter where in the house Max is, he knows I've opened sardines...he was on the counter in a flash trying out my recipe...he didn't care much for the berries but he'd do anything for sardines :-) Maggie loves sardines too and felt the injustice in a cats ability to jump that high....
I removed the compression bandage on Daddy's nose and the stitches look great. The swelling was minimal (he said his nose is still numb), so we left it open to the air for awhile. I have to keep it greased and clean and in two weeks he will get the stitches out and be good as new.
Lanny and I took a trek down to Home Depot...our little get-aways nowadays involves Home Depot, Tractor Supply or the grocery store...but we will take what we can get :-)
The ducks are doing very well...and it is still the cutest thing to round them up for bed every evening. I don't know why we waited so long to get ducks, except that these were meant to be ours...a real rescue!
I am loving all the different duck behaviors I am witnessing...I have enjoyed my chickens and all their antics and ducks just might be even more entertaining!
Dinner was broiled pollock, sweet potatoes and green beans and it was delicious. Homemade sugar cookies and jello and we are stuffed and ready to settle down to a movie...of course there will be popcorn and probably ice cream on tonights snack menu...tonight is Die Hard #2.
Goodnight Y'all....
