A Day in the Life / Sunday, December 20

Quiet Time...

“...the Lord Himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call Him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭7:14‬ ‭

Max enjoyed this mornings Bible reading :-)

This is the Lord's Day...I did my morning chores, inside and out. It was not as cold this morning as it has been, but still chilly!!!

I fried up some ground beef for the Sloppy Joe's for lunch, washed my hair, and it was time to get ready for church.

We go early to have an hour Ensemble practice since we don't have a full choir or practice during the week.

Lanny and I led the combined Sunday School Class today because Jenice (the Children's Ministries Leader) was taking a little time away to be with her Mom. We had a pretty large class... ten 1st-5th graders and 3 littles... a nice group!

Service was a blessing today...I love hearing the Christmas Story, no matter how many times, and Pastor Steve always finds new and interesting points to bring up!

We had Sloppy Joes and Cole Slaw for "Sunday Dinner"...not fancy but a favorite!!

Then it was Siesta Time of course...

Now Lanny is back at church for evening service...I miss going to the Sunday and Wednesday evening services but Mom and Dad really cannot be left alone and there are so many things I take care of in the evenings... it is just the best way to go right now...

Shelly is helping Paula finish her wood stove enclosure...she is nearly ready to have her first fire in her little cabin...we are expecting some pretty frigid temps in the next few days so a wood fire will be SO welcome!

The ducks and chickens are in bed...I put them up right before dark...

Mom and Dad are enjoying a mug of nice, warm tomato soup for "supper"...I don't usually eat anything after a big midday meal so I am just waiting for Lanny to get home for our movie and popcorn...

I'm watching a wonderful documentary, "Earth at Night" on Apple TV...Max is even more fascinated by it than I ....

This episode is about birds living in the big cities and how many are killed and injured by flying into the skyscrapers...thousands and thousands per year...I never thought about that...

******

I'm not sure what the movie will be tonight...I'll let you know tomorrow.

Goodnight Y'all....
