Dad was up so I took care of him:
meds, inhaler, coffee thermos and mug,
and Breakfast Burrito :-)
Then settled in with my pack...
90 plus minutes of Bible Study and Quiet Time.
The best part of my day :-)
Mitzi was on her futon at 6...
But I did have to remove Max before I made the bed :-)
Bucky was letting me and his ladies know
that it was "nearly" time for the sun to come up...
there was no sun however... too cloudy...
but he didn't care :-)
This was on the chicken spy cam...
WAY before dawn...
...I fed the fur kids, decanted Kefir...
and at the proper time went out to release the chicks and ducks...
with Maggie's help!
The original 4 were ready...
The four new girls still hold back a bit...
Only one duck egg this morning...
but now that I know they are both able, I won't give up hope :-)
Mitzi was supervising the activity...
Even the fish are feeling frisky... spring is in the air...
they are chasing each other :-)

For Second Breakfast I fed my crew Biscuits and Gravy...
I do store bought biscuits in the waffle maker...
I like home made much better, but when I use canned
I get the jumbo kind and put them in the waffle iron.
I guess the crisp and thin help to make them OK :-)
AND, they are ready in just a few minutes vs the time in an oven...
My gang likes 'em...
The girls are getting along fairly well...
Bucky is doing his best to keep them close.
He is just beside himself!!!!
Lanny is about ready to lay down the rubber liner
and start getting serious about the duck pond...
The hens were all fussing over one nest box (they have three),
so when they came out, VOILA!!
Two pearl whites and one brown...
Lanny is lining the walls up ...
And the chickens LOVE playing around the MULE...
Out Rooster Willie used to get IN the MULE and oversee the property...
I sure miss Willie...
But I am becoming more and more in love with Bucky.
He is an adorable little fella and so nice to the ladies...

For lunch I made Turkey Sandwiches...
Lanny was out talking to the neighbor so he was late coming in...
He DID eat tho :-)
because it started pouring the rain!!

I just got a message from a local gal that has 6 young Easter Eggers
that she is willing to part with!!! I will get them Wednesday!!!
That will be 13 hens...I will need to be selling eggs!
What do you think a good price would be for farm raised, happy hen's eggs?

Here is Coconut's egg... that makes 5 today.
We had Fish Sticks, Macaroni and and Tomatoes and Cole Slaw...
Chocolate Cake for Dessert...
I am going to post this now (I am ready to get my jammies on)
so I will have to tell you tomorrow if the chickies go to bed properly...
yes, I round them up in my jammies and chicken boots :-)
Tonight we will watch Dr. Strange... I like it.
We did NOT like Spiderman: Homecoming...
probably won't watch that one again...

I'd buy eggs!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame that you can't freeze eggs like you can freeze meat and veggies. But I'm sure that you will have plenty of people wanting to buy farm fresh eggs. (PS. By the way, this is Glynda but when I post the name comes up as Gracie. I don't know why or how that happens!)
