Quiet Time...
“Little children, you are from God and have overcome them,
for He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

Had to share a picture of Sylvia Faye... yesterday when it was nearly summer!
****
Dad was up...
So I gathered all his goodies together and took care of his needs...
Then headed for the couch :-)
At 6 I moved Max out of the bed, so I could make it...
Mitzi on "her" futon :-)
Fed the fur kids,
decanted both milk and water kefir...
and bundled up to head outside...
GORGEOUS!!
Mitzi and Maggie were checking on the chickens :-)
Murphy was just enjoying the snow.
I wish I had taken a picture of him...
shortly after this he was covered head to toe with snow...
he was WHITE!!!
That wire hair really picks up everything, even snow!
I brought them some food and water into the coop.
They were not real interested in going out in the snow just yet!
The chicks did fine even tho the snow blew in a little.
We will put a lamp above them tonight...
Two duck eggs in the duck house...
Made Dad and Lanny Eggs, Sausage and Toast for Second Breakfast...
After breakfast Lanny and I ran down to Tractor Supply to pick up some heat lamp bulbs and some pine flakes to snug up the chicks. I don't like heat lamps but tonight is supposed to be 9 degrees. So just for tonight we will put one above the chicks...
It was a Winter Wonderland all the way down the hill!!!
We had to stop for gas and Lanny had to clean off the pump before we could do anything... seeing the price he wished he hadn't :-)
When we got home
A Pearl White and Goldie...
Made Turkey Sandwiches for lunch..
Then settled in for a snowy day's nap...
Turned out all the fur kids joined us...
Just at different times...
Mitzi and Max came in shifts :-)
The sun is so bright and is melting the snow pretty fast...
the chickens and ducks were glad they could hunt and peck a bit...
Had another Pearl White and a Willow egg,
so total 6 eggs today!!
And we put up the heat lamp above the chicks...
the coop actually stays warmer on its own because the floor is SO thick with pine flakes... there is a bit of composting going on under there...
I think it's called "deep litter method"...
Lanny took these earlier this morning before the snow started melting off...
SO beautiful up here!!
We have a gazillion cardinals up here...
soon there will only be a pair or two...
they are SO territorial.
But in the winter they flock together.
SO beautiful against the snow...
For supper we had Baked Potatoes and all the Fixing's!
Plus Salad and Pudding :-)
The chickens and ducks are enjoying the melt...
No problem putting the flock to bed last night...
I'll keep you posted. I am sure that when the new young ladies are released from their enclosure that the circus will begin again, but for now, no problem!
We are finished with the Marvel series :-(
Not sure what we will watch tonight...
I'll let you know about that tomorrow as well ...
Goodnight Y'all...
Be sure to SPRING FORWARD!!!
I always change all my clocks early in the day so I am not surprised come evening :-)
God bless and Sweet Dreams!!
