Quiet Time...
“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.”
John 14:6
*****
Dad was up and waiting :-)
Made him a Breakfast Burrito and took it in with the rest of his morning goodies...
Then spent 90 plus minutes with my pack in Quiet Time...
Ran these two lazy bones out at 6 to make our bed...
Out at the break of day...
Gabby and Penny did their thing...
And... Coppertina dropped an egg during the night from the highest roost...
it didn't break... glad I have a lot of cushion down there on the floor :-)
When the Maran's (the black hens) were young they laid the most beautiful dark chocolate brown eggs... now they are very pale but you can tell who they belong to... there are still some dark specks :-)
Made the men a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Omelet and Toast for their breakfast
and then headed back out to roam in the yard a bit...
Contributions from Popcorn, Sugar and Coconut...
Fluffy bottoms...
Paula hard at work...as usual!!
They will be coming up to take Lanny's toy back...
he has done all the damage he planned and more...
Good weekends' work!!
Dandy and Takoda were in a Mutual Groom...
till someone bit! :-)
Then the bucking began... just like kids!!
Paula's Hay Barn from the other direction...
just too cute!
Dandy Boy!
Takoda...
Lanny's handiwork....
Five drain ditches dug and gravel to be delivered Friday...
The view of the pasture from below...
Ate Tuna sandwiches for lunch and then rested for about an hour...
I can watch Mom and Dad (out of the corner of my eye) so it makes it easier to rest... I don't have to run back there at every noise...
I can see if they are getting in any trouble...
we have a camera in each of their rooms, here in the living room and in the office.
I can also keep an eye on the dogs if we are outside,
or back in the old days when we went out :-)
Mags and Murph on the couch with us...
Mitzi on the floor with her bone...
After nap time Lanny went down to Home Depot to get a new toilet seat and some potting soil for me and I went out back to play with my feathered babies...
I LOVE watching the ducks swim and preen!
Willow laid her egg for the day...
I love clouds... in the Bible the clouds are so often associated with God,
so I never fail to think of Him when I see beautiful clouds!!!
We have a pair of these beauties trying to fight a sparrow over one of our BlueBIrd Houses. I have thrown out the sparrows nest a half dozen times but he is so persistent! I hope this pair can chase him off... I have never seen them before...
Tree Swallows!
Goldie...
Sharing the fermented feed...
Sneaking a quick dust bath in the duck house :-)
Granny Raven hunting for bugs under the water...
the damp earth under the waterer hides lots of goodies...
Bucky is hunting bugs to share with his ladies.
The rooster will find yummy treats and then make little sounds
to let the ladies know he has a gift... it's just the cutest thing you ever saw...
then he will do his little dance!
that makes 8 eggs today!!!
For dinner I warmed left over Sloppy Joe and broiled them with some cheese, warmed up the left over Sweet Potatoes, had Slaw, Green Salad and Chips,
Pudding for dessert...
Mom is still eating in her room...
The dishes are washed, the chicken feed is tucked away for the night, the chicks and ducks are enjoying the cooler evening scratching and hunting for bugs...
they will go to bed on their own at dusk... I love going out there to see
where they've all decided to bed down... usually the pick a spot
and go there each night... last night was the first night that the babies didn't sleep in one of the nest boxes... they slept on the high roost on the left...
all the others except for Granny Raven (she sleeps in a nest box)
and Goldie who sleeps on the middle roost on the right...
So, I am in my jammies... I hear Lanny coming in. He will shower and we will settle down to watch another John Wayne. Last night was Rio Bravo... not sure what it will be tonight... I always just wait and see!
Goodnight Family and Friends...
Thank you for your prayers!!
God bless, and sweet dreams!
