The Lords' Day on the Mountain... April 24

Quiet Time...

“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world,
but in order that the world might be saved through Him.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:17‬

*****

Dad was up...
Took care of his business and then settled in for our Quiet Time...

Ran the two lazy bones out at 6 and made our bed...

Fed those fur kids and they had to take a quick nap to digest...

Daybreak...

Headed out to my feathered kids...

Two perfect duck eggs...

Baby fluffy bottoms...

Still a morning moon!

Decided to head out to the stalls...

The horses were hollering for carrots...

Paula has made the hay barn SO cute with all her old farm/horse implements!

Sibling quarrels...

Dandy is very gentle eating carrots...
He is such a sweetie!!
Sometimes :-)

I think I am probably a bit late getting started but Lanny wants some sweet potatoes, so I am going to try to get some slips going... maybe there is still enough time
to get some out in the garden...

Lanny was already at Church so I made Dad a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Omelet
and a piece of Toast for his second Breakfast...
he had Ham and Biscuit Roll Ups at 4AM :-)

Maggie puts her chin on your leg so you will remember she is there...
everyone is forbidden to feed these critters from the table
but occasionally "someone" forgets and she is going to be sure to be right there
when they do!

Made Cole Slaw for todays Sloppy Joe Sunday Lunch...

Max loves to sleep with Dad during his naps...

Popcorn, Sugar and Coconut...

Put out some kitchen scraps for them...
They LOVE digging thru scraps and egg shells!!

Dust bathing...

The ducks love to mess around in the chicken coop...
no one cares!

This time of day the flock likes to get in the shade under the old pool deck...

This is Coppertina... she is usually very sweet but today she was serious about her egg laying (she did NOT lay an egg, but I think she was hopeful at this moment :-))...
she pecked the camera and nearly knocked it out of my hand :-)

The long and lanky babies... nearly egg laying age...
I cannot wait to see their blue and green eggs!!!

The Blue Bird pair were watching me really close
as I opened the box to peek at the eggs...
I think they know I am no danger to them...
that is a sun beam on the nest, not a broken or damaged egg...

Goldie was grooming Coconut...

Sunday Lunch... Mom is still in her room...
but she is feeling a little better...
moving around a little easier.
Keep praying!

Sloppy Joes, Coleslaw and Chips!

Rob joined us... Molly went to her Moms to help with a birthday party...

A VERY short rest after lunch... Lanny wanted to get back to the excavator.
He only has it for the weekend so he took tonight off church so he could finish the job.

****

So cute... I had to go around the pasture fence to get to Lanny and Dad
(yes, Dad rode down with Lanny in the MULE to watch the work)...
I came out into the barn and saw Dad's scooter but NO DAD! Scared me to death! :-) I told those men they need to let me know their plans so I don't have a heart attack!!

Anyway, Dandy must have thought I had a carrot in my pocket...
he followed me down the hill...

Lanny playing with his BIG TOY!!

Horses are especially beautiful creatures, aren't they?

Paula's Barn House... the front porch...
so cute!

Our patio out the back end of the big barn... this is actually our living room door and one day we will put a carport back here and a gate so we can drive up and park at the "front" of our house and not walk thru the big barn...
but whatever, it's no big deal and not in the immediate plans :-)

Also got an egg from Goldie...

Fed Mom and Dad some Chicken Noodle Soup for their "dinner"
and then I headed out to enjoy some more sunshine!

I have seen this a zillion times over the last six years
but it still often startles me... they look dead or dying when they dust bathe!

All eight enjoying a quick scratch grain treat...
I put the food away so appease them with a little scratch :-)

Second year Coral Honeysuckle (non invasive)...
Isn't it lovely!

Lanny is in the shower... done for the day.
I am in my jammies and ready to settle in on the couch for pack and movie time...
we still have several John Wayne movies so I will wait to see what my Honey picks for our viewing pleasure tonight... I am passive in this...
He picks the movies and I am always happy!

Continue to lift Mom up in prayer... she is better for sure, but still in pain.
Her bones are so bad and these fractures never really heal... and then another one comes along. It's so hard for her to keep a good attitude about it...

God bless you all and thank you for your prayers...
Goodnight Y'all and Sweet Dreams!!
