Saturday on the Mountain... April 9

Quiet Time...

“Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts,
He is the King of glory! Selah”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭24:10

*****

Dad saw the lights :-)
I got all his goodies together and made him some Biscuit Rollups...

Then headed to the couch...
Mitzi kept her Daddy's spot warm til he got up...

Then she went in and got in the bed :-)
I had a full 90 minutes of "pretty quiet" time
with my pack!

Had to move Mitzi and Max out of the bed to make it at 6...

Decanted the kefir (water and milk)...

Then headed out at day break...

Two duck eggs but one broke when I picked it up...
I don't know if it was already cracked or if for some reason the shell was thin :-(
I will up their calcium intake... they already eat egg shells daily!!
Maybe I will grab some oyster shells to mix in...

And then this one was on the floor of the coop under the really high roost...
One of the Pearl Whites laid a night egg and it broke when it hit the floor...
So I lost two eggs today... :-(

Willow laid a night egg as well, but hers was in the nest...

Made Pancakes and Sausage for the men
and just toast for Mom...
she added jelly :-)

Lanny's been working on the new pump and filter all morning.
He is working in his office... it's warmer in here :-)
We will put it in the pond and get that going later today.
Wendy and Toby came over and brought me 17 pounds of pork fat
so I can render some lard next week.
I'll let you know when that's going on...

For lunch I made us some Hot Dog Pizza's...
its just pizza sauce, cheese and pepperoni on hot dog buns.
Remember, waste not want not. I use up all our left overs! We also had some left over buttered noodles and corn that I warmed up... Yum!

Then we rested a bit.
It was sleeting and snowing so thick that I couldn't see the back yard...
and it was SO COLD with that wind.
A little snooze was the right thing to do :-)
My dogs were all touching me...

We went out to brave the cold after our nap...
the sun was actually out...
didn't help the temperature much but it felt better than cloudy!

The other Pearl White, Coconut and Goldie left us some treasures...

These babies are obsessed with the nest boxes but not yet for laying eggs...
they all pile in one (how, I do not know, they are getting so big)...

Gabby and Penny like the new pond deco and the water can feature...
I'll show you all that maybe tomorrow...
it is supposed to be warmer tomorrow...
Brrrrrrrrr!

Ducks don't care how COLD it is!!

Two little Blue Bird eggs...
I am fighting the sparrows in the other Blue Bird House but this one succeeded!

Lanny went down to Home Depot to pick up some duck pond material...
lattice and face boards, etc...

For supper we had Salmon Cakes, Normandy Veggies,
Mac and Cheese, Beets and Pudding for Dessert...

Lanny picked up the puppy landmines and I cleaned up the kitchen.
Went out to put the chicken food pans away...
this bin keeps everything safe and secure...

Not even Coppertina can open it..
They all KNOW where the food is :-)

Look how big these babies are getting...
it's hard to tell them from the ladies!
They are the light brown ones nearest the coop door...

I think this is actually my Granny Raven's egg!
She was in the box for a couple hours today.
She often sits in the nest box, but this is the first speckled Maran egg
I have had in a very long time... I am going to give her the credit for it :-)

Total eggs today is 8 and total for the week 44!

The fish are excited that tomorrow it will be in the 70's!!
SO AM I!!!

I am in my Jammies, Lanny is in the shower.
We watched some pretty intense drama's the last two nights so tonight we will watch Hatari! with John Wayne!!! I LOVE John Wayne.

Goodnight Y'all!
God bless you ALL, real good!!!
Sweet Dreams!
