Tuesday on the Farm... August 30

Quiet Time...

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:8‬ ‭ESV‬‬

*****
You wanna see how ruff I have it?
This was last night while watching Jurassic World Dominion....
I just have NO peace :-)
I think he loves his Momma...

And at what I assume is "dusk", not really dark at all,
all the chickens go into the coop on their own and get on the roost...

Now the ducks are a different story. I usually have to send them in.
They are no trouble and go right in,
but they quack and carry on while they do it...
the unruly children.
They sleep on the floor in little dig outs they make in the pine flakes...

It's hard to see them well because it IS dusk,
but I count 7 little silhouettes to be sure they are all there...
Goldie never sleeps with the others... she sticks to the second tier.
I hope it is by her choice....

And the black pack waits for me to come back in...

*****

Dad was up and ready for his goodies!

I cozied up on the couch with my fur kids...
Mitzi kept her Daddy's side warm...
For a LONG time.
He didn't get up until about 5:30 :-)

But it was worth her wait...
he gave her a neck and ear massage :-)

Then she went in to the bed to wait for breakfast...
I didn't run them out this morning.
I waited til they were eating to make the bed :-)

My first Cold Process Soap Batch is ready...
I will still let it cure a few weeks but is could be used if we wanted.
It smells very nice and I tried some...
very nice lather and feels good on my skin.
I have been getting more supplies so will start making more this next week!
I am going to try different oils and additives (essential oils, herbs, etc...)

Processing the chicken Lanny found at Food City yesterday...
Breasts, about 10 pounds...

I filled 8 pint jars...
ready for the canner.

Only one layer...

Heading out to the chicks and ducks...

Nice bucket of grubs...

The fish are as bad as the rest of the animals around here
(including the tall two legged ones)
and come running when they see me... It's the food lady!

The turtles...
I LOVE 'EM!!

The garden didn't do so well but the Marigolds did fine :-)

Lanny had to work today at the church and ate some cereal before he left,
so I made Daddy some French Toast for his 8 AM (second) Breakfast...

Sparkley Day...
Berries for the Birds...

Also Bread Day...
Wouldn't it be nice if when you are sick a couple days that time would just stand still and all this stuff wouldn't just keep piling up and waiting for you :-)

Chicken is out of the canner...
bubbling and pop sealing away!!!

Learned my lesson...
Three loves instead of two giant ones...
These slices will fit into the toaster!

I fed Mom and Dad (and me) some of the left over chicken
from Sunday in sandwiches...
I LOVE chicken sandwiches and so do they.

Lanny was at work and I don't nap alone :-)
But I did sit down while the bread was baking...
Murphy on the left, Maggie on the right and Mitzi never far away...

Bread is done and smelling up the house!
I will cut one package for Paula...
Robbie cuts his own
and we will have our bread for the next couple days...

Canadian Goldenrod in the chicken lot...

Also CrownBeard. We decided to let the wild stuff grow up in this open area.
The chickens and ducks love to roam around in the brush and it is wildly pretty...

Willow and Opal must be real close on a schedule...
or just like to color coordinate :-)

Opal's egg is still small.
She seems to be the same size as Willow physically
but maybe just because she is still so young...

I love my multi colored eggs...
Sugar laid one today as well and it wasn't as crazy marked up...

I invited Daddy to ride down the hill with me to get the mail...
he likes to get out as much as I do!!
and our driveway is actually a very "Scenic Drive" :-)

We had Hot Dogs for Supper...
Easy Peasy and it just happens to be a FAVORITE!!!

So, the kitchen is clean.
The yard is picked up.
The chickens are taken care of and I am ready to call it a day...
We will get back into the X-Men series tonight...

Thank you again for all the prayers...
I will go to the doctor tomorrow
and see what I need to do to keep myself at the wheel :-)

Goodnight Y'all...
God bless and Sweet Dreams!
